ELIZABETH TOOK LONGER TO GET TO WORK THAN ANY OTHER DAY. When she woke up Mark was still sleeping beside her so she decided to lay down with him for a little while before he woke up as well. Which didn't happen often. 

Normally when Elizabeth woke up she would get up, get ready and wait for Mark with a cup of coffee down the stairs in the kitchen. 

That's why Mark's mind was running since the morning about what could be different. The people from Mercy West were joining their hospital today maybe it was the stress, but Mark knew better than that. He knew that Elizabeth wasn't a person who was stressed often so it needed to be something else. 

Brushing it off he got up after pressing kiss to her forehead and got ready for the day. Elizabeth, though, was still lying on the bed, sheets spread around and her face hidden in the pillows. She though about not going to work today... or ever again but then she remembered Meredith who was lying there after a liver transplant to her father. 

She promised her she'll visit her today no matter what and what else there were little humans, like Arizona and herself like to call them, who needed her help. And some guy named Jackson Avery won't stop her from doing that. 

While she was there at her house, Mark watching her with furrowed brows as she lazily got up from the bed, Alex Karev was in the elevator in Seattle Grey Mercy West hospital looking in to his phone when two guys in orange scrubs stepped in before the door closed. 

Alex's eyes snapped up to look who it was and then they almost fell out of its sockets. His fingers found Elizabeth's contact on his phone, quickly writing her a message. 

'Don't go to E.R. today. Pretty boy's here.'

EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON, they say. If for a reason why was Elizabeth's phone left on a charger that day so she couldn't see Alex's message. 

She had a smile on her face because Callie came back from Mercy West due to the merger, even though it felt like she never left it was good to have her friend back. She walked down the hallway to the pit, putting on her glows when she heard some screaming and yelling. 

Right when Elizabeth stepped in to the doorway a man with a hammer ran towards the patient and the girl who stood beside him. A Mercy Wester came running after him, tackling him down on the floor right by her feet. He knelled down on his back holding his hands as a cop came running in and took him for him.
