MANY PEOPLE WERE ON THE PEDS FLOOR THAT MORNING, which Elizabeth nor Arizona were fond of. They got a fifteen year old girl, who Callie and Owen operated on and a mother with a baby on the way which was a little more complicated so it had to be taken care of by the two pediatric, female surgeons.
Now, when Alex and Arizona were with the baby in the kids I.C.U. Elizabeth needed to show the residents around the floor. Especially the Mercy-West ones. To her surprise though only Jackson, Charles, Cristina and the two doctors who operated on the girl from the morning stood in front of her. Elizabeth finished her caramel cappuccino from the morning which Mark bought her and throw the empty cup in to the bin next to her before taking a deep breath.
"Okay." She turned fully to the doctors while she watched Callie who showed her thumbs up.
"I know that this is for someone a new experience on the PEDS so I have to tell you some important points you might think are dumb but in reality it makes you a better person in the eyes if those who you're healing here. What I also need for you to know that I run this place, I am the chief of pediatrics in this hospital and I decided what is the right cut, the right method to use or the right decision to make, understood?" Elizabeth asked, looking at the residents who nodded their heads.
"Understood." They repeated in one voice.
"She's bossy. I like that." Charles whispered to his friend who just furrowed his brows and shook his head over the thing.
"Okay, this is not a general surgery in minimum, those are the tiny humans, these are the people we need to protect in all cost. They believe in magic and fairytales, they believe that when a good doctor fixes their hurting arm, the doctor is a good fairy godmother or a superhero. They believe there is a fairy dust in their I.V. bags. They hope that one day they'll be princess and princesses and you are not going to ruin that for them. In PEDS we have miracles, magic and superpowers. In PEDS everything is believable and possible. And you are not here to destroy it." Elizabeth's face turned from smiley to serious one when she looked back at the residents and as she took the chart from Cristina's hands.
She opened the door to the patient's room to find a girl from the morning and a little boy in a lab coat, standing beside her bed with a chart. Elizabeth smiled at him before stepping on the other side of the bed. "Good morning, Dr. Wallace." She greeted him with a smile while the others exchanged a strange look.
