"WE SHOULD TELL DEREK."
Maybe it wasn't the best idea to say those words just now.
Yes Elizabeth and Mark said their 'I love you's but this was a sore subject. They were both friends of Derek's and Mark promised him to never touched the woman or even look at her for the matter of fact.
Now they were lying beside each other in their bed, ate at the same table every morning and every night, shared the shower when they needed and whispered I love you in work when there was no one around.
When they were eating breakfast, James still upstairs sleeping, their heads were both full of the idea of saying it to the neurosurgeon. When they said what was bothering them at the same time and this was the first thing they've heard, it made their cheeks turned crimson.
Mark loved Elizabeth.
If someone didn't notice he needed to be blind and Derek was... well, Derek.
He didn't see the glances, the kisses, he didn't hear the whispers. They needed to tell him.
And they needed to do it soon.

THAT MORNING, Alex was on Elizabeth service. They walked in to a room just like a boy did walked out of the bathroom, a smile written on his lips.
"Jackson Prescot, you grew up again!" The young PEDS surgeon said to the young man.
"No, I didn't."
"Then why do you look so big?" Jackson walked to the bed, sitting down, his smile only getting bigger.
"'Cause you're short."
Her smile disappeared and fake hurt expression took over her face. "That was a low blow." The boy laughed as he laid down on the bed. Dr. Kenley, who was Jackson's surgeon, walked to the other side of bed, taking out his stethoscope.
Elizabeth was a head of PEDS, but every child was somehow special even if she wasn't the child's surgeon.
"Dr. Green, while I check Jackson, why don't you take Melinda through today's procedure." The male doctor spoke, gesturing to the boy's mother.
