Chapter Twenty-Six

Payton’s POV

Jamie:  A request like yours requires flattery and groveling. It can't be all about you. It has to be for the common good of everybody.

Landon: It is for the common good.

Jamie and Landon stop walking and she turns facing him.

 Landon: Okay, Eddie Zimmerhoff deserves the best. Please?

Jamie: Okay. One condition though, Carter.

Landon: What's that?

Jamie: You have to promise you won't fall in love with me.

Landon chuckles at her.

Landon: That's not a problem.

            This movie is really good so far and the actor who plays Landon is mighty fine! I have honestly never seen this and I only vote for it because the girls did. At first I was not sure if I would be able to actually be able to concentrate on this movie because of the wonderful, perfect arm that is around my shoulders. How can anybody be so amazing? Isn’t there a law against that? More importantly why me?

            Back to the point I didn’t think I would be able to pay attention, but it turns out this is a really good movie so far and is hard not to pay attention to! Who knew? I rest my head lightly on his shoulder and smile. I steal peak up at his face to see a cute little grin resting on it. My smile grows a little larger as I look back at the TV. I never thought I’d be sitting here, with my head on Reece Collin’s shoulder. If someone would have told me this would happen, I would have laughed in their faced and ask what they’ve been smoking?

            The room is quiet as the movie continues and I smile. Is this what real families are like? It is really nice. For the next haft hour maybe, I’m not sure I sit their against Reece feeling so comfortable and safe. The movie is now when Jamie and Landon are standing on the dock at night and talking about believing in God and the wind.

Jamie: Joy. Love. I mean, it's –

She turns to face Landon.

Jamie: It's the center of everything.

They both pause.

Landon: I might kiss you.

Jamie: I might be bad at it.

Landon: That's not possible.
