Chapter Fifty
Payton’s POV
“I’m going to go take a shower while you talk to my mom,” Reece informs me.
“Alright,” I say as I smile at him. His brown hair is a mess a top of his head, the bottom of his blue eyes is lined with circles, and his clothes are wrinkled. He looks so tired and I feel so bad because it is my fault that he is tired.
“See you soon,” he says as he drops my hand and he and Rider disappear down the hallway.
I sigh as I glance around the hallway before walking to the sitting room to see if Georgia is in there. I rub my eyes as I yawn, I am beginning to feel just how tired my body is. I have been being too afraid to sleep in the fear that I will wake up and it’ll all be a dream or that Lila will disappear appear again. As I enter the living room or well sitting room, I find that is empty of life except for the figure seated on top of the brown leather couch by a warm, dancing fireplace.
As I near the figure I take in everything. On the nice wooden coffee table sits a cup that says ‘Worlds Greatest Mom’, and its contents is a brown liquid producing steam, so my guess is coffee or hot chocolate. I can tell its Georgia by the calming feel in the air. Her blonde hair is falling loosely around her shoulders. She is wearing a blue sweater and some pajama bottoms. Her knees are bent under her and she has a book in her lap. She is so pretty and kind so I can do this.
“Hey,” I mumble meekly. As I walk to the other end of the couch to sit down.
She looks up from her book and her eyes clue onto me. “Hi there Payton,” she says with total ease and kindness.
“Hey,” I say a tad bite stronger with a smile. By the sounds of the house no one else is home, which is somewhat understandable seeing as it is morning and Reece and I have been at the hospital all night long.
Through out the night I stayed awake the entire time because I did not feel comfortable enough to sleep. Lila slept most of the night but she would wake up a few times, mainly when the nurse would come in to do a check. Every time her eyes would I open I would be right there by her side, greeting her with a smile. Words cannot explain just how happy I am to have my little sister awake.
“Where is everyone?” I ask her as I pull my knees up to my chest and turn facing her with my back against the arm rest.
“Leo took Rayne to go and have a father daughter day; I think they may have head to a amusement park or something. Juliet spent the night with one of her friends and as for Conner, I think he is doing something college related. I’m guessing Reece is here though,” she says with a smile and raised eye brow.
