Chapter Thirty-Nine
Reece’s POV
Payton’s body stiffens in my arms and I bite the inside of my lip regretting asking her such a dumb question. She is probably not going to answer it and in all honesty I do not blame her. I was totally stupid for asking her that.
“He left; it was when I was younger. He was a very bad man and I don’t consider him my father, I call him sperm donor. He is the meanest men I know and he is a major jackass. He cheated on my mom all the time 24/7 but had her so brain washed that she would not leave him. I remember Lila been so healthy and I would always protect her. He would lay down beating to us, mainly me, because I stood between him and Lila. I thought she was too young to see the horror of this man who was supposed to be our father. He would hit me repeatedly until I was knocked unconcisious. Most the time he would continue to hit me causing me to release cries of pain and then the beating got worse from me being a ‘cry-baby’, the pain was awful. That pain however could nowhere near match up the emotional and mental pain I suffered. As he beat me he barked out horrible comments to me like that I am ugly, fat, worthless, stupid, nothing, waste of space, a mistake, and many more,” Payton breaks off from what she is saying as I her voice thicken and her body begin to shake. I hear a few sobs escape her and my anger within me begins boiling to a peak.
“After so long of hearing all those things I began to believe them and look at myself in those ways, and to tell you the truth, I have never ever spoken to anyone about this ever,” Payton begins to cry even more and I bring her closer to my chest clinging to her not wanting to let go.
How can any man treat a child that way? Guys like that belong on the electric chair. He is an awful man and I hope I never met the man because I may not be able to see but my fists still work fine.
“Payton, never ever think of yourself that way! None of that is true! You are beautiful and sweet. You are kind, skinny, and a genius. You are nowhere near worthless because to me you are worth everything. Without you I don’t know where I’d be right now, and when my accident happen I never in my life thought I fall in love or met the one. Then you appeared like a gift from heaven, my very own Angel. Everything about you is amazing. I have fallen in love with you and I love you so much! You mean a lot to me! I love you and you are my world, my whole wide world,” I tell her as I hold her and her nails burry through my shirt and into my skin.
I feel shifting in my arms as Payton moves around and then I feel a set of wet, salty, soft lips touch mine and tingles shot throughout my whole body. Slowly I rise up my hand and rest it onto her check while the other cause to the small of her back. Our lips move in sync like two things on the same wave length. The perfect kiss full of love soon grows passion as I use my thumb to wipe away her cool tears. Gently I nibble on her bottom lip but her lips remain sealed very tightly together. Groaning I continue to kiss her, but then try again. Kissing her is the most amazing experience I’ve ever had. I have had my fair share of kisses, but this, this is nothing like I felt with any other person ever. Finally she caves in and parts her perfect lips allowing my tongue to slip into her sweet mouth which tastes like green apples and is delicious.
Allowing my tongue to explore her mouth I feel her thin fingers twist in my hair. She takes my lead on the kiss and does what I do and finally I force myself to pull away from the perfect kiss and peck her lips again before pulling her into my arms.
