Chapter Thirty-Three
Reece’s POV
“So what do you need our help for?” Conner’s voice asks me as we sit in the den. I can hear Rider on the floor chewing on what sounds to be his bone.
“I need you guys to help me to get ready for my date,” I state simply as I lean back into the couch.
“With Payton,” Carter sings jokingly.
“Shut up,” I mumble really wishing I could chuck something at him right about now.
“Oh! Bro, you finally asked her out!?” Conner says his voice full of excitement.
I groan and run my hand through my hair. “Thanks Carter. Now he’ll never shut up,” I say as I lean my head back shutting my eyes.
Conner laughs and then I can hear Carter laugh too. “Sorry man,” Carter says.
“Whatever. So little brother what do you need use to do?” Conner says faking hurt.
“Well Conner I need you to pick her up. And Carter can you help me get everything sat up?” I ask as I sit up straight and running my hands down my face.
“No problem Reece you just tell us what to do and we’ll do it,” Carter says with his normal happy voice. I smile and begin telling them my plan for tonight. The date may not be normal or successful, but I want it to be different.

“Reece dear! I am headed to talk to your school! Will you be ok here?” my mom’s voice calls as she enters the room. I am currently stretched out on the couch with Rider laying on my legs.
I pull my eyes open and yawn. “Yeah, I am good mom,” I say to her.
“Alright dear! I love you,” she says to me.
“I love you too,” I reply as I shut my eyes again.
I listen to my mom’s heels clicking against the hardwood as she leaves the room. My heart rate picks up as thoughts of returning to school skates through my brain.
