Robb and the reader return home after defeating the Lannisters. A royal ceremony is held for the pair, wearing golden crowns and a proposal is revealed.
My heart pounds in my chest as my horses hooves gallop through the gates of Winterfell. Finally home I thought as Robb galloped behind me with the remaining banner men that survived the war against the Lannisters. Dismount my horse my boots crunching on white snow as Robb's arm hangs over my shoulder. "We're home Y/n." I smile at him but my eyes scanned the castle's courtyard remembering that not everyone made it home, not his father. Bran, Arya and Sansa slowly enter the castle as his mother Catelyn approached. "The men have called for a celebration tonight then rest for the next few nights. You and Y/n should go prepare, I'll handle the rest my son." Robb and I agree entering the castle.
I head to my old chambers that I used when I was a handmaiden to Lady Stark. Opening my door I come face to face with no other than Tyrion Lannister standing at my bedside, a light grey dress with gold jewels sewn in the fabric laying on my bed. "Tyrion, why are in here?" I gasped at the man who had become a close friend of mine during King Robert Baratheon's visit. I'd convinced Robb to spare him from the beheading he gave the rest of his family. "I don't need a servant to do my beheading for me." He had said before swinging his sword, the first lesson his father ever taught him he told me once the deed was done.
"I've come to give you this dress as a gift, Y/n. After all we are friends, aren't we?" He spoke his hands together in front of him as I admire the dress. I only ever wore dresses on special occasions because I agreed with Arya, that tunics and trousers were better. I was wearing them now over my grandmother's winter cloak, my hair braided. "Of course we are. After all you're the only Lion I ever liked to be around." He released a chuckle at my statement exiting for me to change.
Quickly I changed into the gown wearing my horse riding boots underneath, my hair now loose and wavy from being unbraided. "You look like a true queen. Y/n L/n." Tyrion spoke in awe reentering the room as I did some twirls. "Don't be ridiculous Tyrion. Robb is the king, I'm just his mother's handmaiden." The Lannister lion shook his head taking my hand in his escorting me to the grand hall. "He is a king, but every king needs a queen. I'm no fool dear. I've seen the interactions between you both."
Tyrion wasn't speaking wrong. Robb and I have had chemistry for years, but neither of us made a move. Waldre Frey's daughter was married off to someone else, leaving the King in the North still single. Scanning over the ballroom I see all the familiar faces of the people of Winterfell. The Winterfell head table with two thrones at the main end in front of a long table, Lady Catelyn stood proudly as we finally reached her, sitting on the table behind her was two crowns. One made of grey metal, twisted to form the head of a direwolf in the middle to represent the Stark king. But the other is odd. The second crown is grey and gold melted down to form a rose at the center. Why would there be two crowns.
Tyrion unloops his arm from mine as a servant declared for everyone to rise from their seats. "All hail Robb Stark, the young wolf. First of his name, king of the Andals and the first of men. Lord of Winterfell, the King in the North!" The large double door opened for Robb to slowly stride in. Wearing his normal leather clothes and a cloak I assume was his father's by the Stark direwolf drawn on the metal clip. Grey Wibd directly at his side, following his master. Everyone bows to our king, once Robb reaches me he holds out his open palm for me. I slowly place my hand in his allowing him to pull me stand, everyone else moves to sit except his mother.
She clears her throat holding the first grey crown in her hands. "My son, I ask you now as the Lady of Winterfell. Will you wear the crown, will you lead the North to the best of your abilities. From this day until your last day?" She questioned him once he removed my hand from his to bend on a knee in front of his mother. "I do." He said proudly intensely staring up at her. Once that's said she gently placed the crown on his head, perfectly mixing in with his curls, he stands strong facing his people. "All hail Robb Stark, the King in the North!" The banner men softly whispered the fraise back before I felt Tyrion tug at my right hand, making me look in the direction he tilts his head.
Robb now stands in front of me and his people holding the second crown. "Lady Y/n, I have kept myself from going through with my true desires...about you. Yet now I stand here before you as your king, so I'm not afraid hiding anything..." He bends down on one knee causing me to gasp at his next words. "I love you, I love you Y/n L/n. You and I have always had feelings for each other that we've both been afraid of revealing. But before you now I am simply just the boy you love, will you take me as I am. Will you stand by my side as my queen and my wife. Will you marry me?"
My hands go over my mouth with happy tears slipping out. Robb is a great man who leads with his heart and never saw me as someone beneath him. He's asking me to marry him. "Yes. Yes, of course I will!" I squeal happily in my boots, a huge grin on my face. Robb gets to his feet as I curtsey in my ballgown feeling his hands sit the crown ontop of my head, his hands intertwined with me as he announces. "All hail my wife, Y/n Stark. And your Queen in the North!"
"Y/n Stark, the Queen in the North!" Tyrion raised a cup filled with wine declaring, bringing a smile to my face as I looked over my shoulder at my friend. "The King and Queen in the North!" The rest of the room cheered with Grey Wind howling in the background.
Robb guides me to the middle of the dancefloor. "My Queen." I curtsey at the same time he bows, his left arm behind his back like he was taught. "My King." Raising our right hands we intertwine them slowly starting the dance. Music softly playing in the background with all eyes on us, but all I can focus on is Robb.
His grey Tully eyes locked on mine with a loving smile. "I love you, Y/n. My lady wolf." I didn't think my smile could get any bigger but it does as he twirls me out. Spinning back into his chest my hands rest around his neck as we both matched the same grin. "I love you too Robb, my young wolf." The North couldn't be in better hands than ours.
