Soon you were out of your thoughts on whether or not you were actually pinned to the wall and a man just showed up in your apartment and then further on rambled about taking over 'midgard' and being 'king' then disappearing.
Crazy shit.
Or you were hallucinating by the lack of sleep and way too much caffeine in your system, either way you didn't have time to think that through especially when you arrived and Vanessa practically pulled you out of the car to get in to the building.
Once in, a sense of relief washed over you. The crowds of your co-workers and important people enveloped you and took your mind off the worries of the weird encounter. You found your self mingling and socializing with people of importance, polite introductions to whomever you pass by as you find your table.
"Thank God they haven't started yet." You whispered to Vanessa while taking a glass of champagne.
"I know right, it's a good thing we're not the only people who came a little later." She says.
Both of you settled on a table and rested, waiting like the others. Your eyes roam the crowd, scanning until your eyes widened at the sight of the same guy that was in your apartment an hour ago, you nudge Nessa at the arm while tugging at her to look at the guy.
His eyes swept the crowd with a calculated gleam in his eyes as he perused the upper deck, seeming to look for someone.
"Nessa, Nessa look it's the guy I was talking about." You say pointing at his direction.
"What guy? you didn't tell me about a guy." She said taking a sip of champagne.
"Well I was about to tell you before you dragged me down to your car."
Nessa rolls her eyes, "in my defense we were almost late so I had to, and you know how they get when even a single hair is out of place. Anyways what about him." She says with an intriguing look. She always did perk up when you told chatted on, especially if it involved the opposite gender.
"So about a few minutes before you came knocking, a guy showed up in my apartment, I have no idea how he got in without alerting me but I guess no robber really wants to get noticed when they wanna get inside someone's property but the guy was too...regal? to be a robber and didn't seem like that kind of crazy- anyway. So when he got in, he was spewing nonsense about taking over 'Midgard' which I don't know what that is, and ruling and making us his playthings? I don't fucking know, he was just really fucking weird and I don't know if it's just my brain messing with me how much caffeine I ingest or how lacking I have with sleep but either way, it was off-putting." You rambled on looking back at the peculiar situation that just occurred a few moments ago.
"Well that sounds like you should have called the Police." She deadpanned. Stating like that was the most obvious thing there is.
"I couldn't...he maybe kind of pinned me to the wall and I sorta froze. Besides, it was just brief. Not enough time to call the police, even if there was, they wouldn't get in time." You murmured the first part, trying to avoid her gaze.
"He what?" She says, narrowing her eyes.
"Listen, he didn't hurt me or anything it was just kind of weird that he showed up at my place, the mystery of him entering and exiting still fuzzy." You say trying to calm her down before there's a scene.
"Oh hell no," she says ready to beat some sense in to the guy but you stopped her trying not to draw attention to yourselves.
"It's fine just leave it, ok?" You say with pleading eyes.
"Fine." She huffs.
By the time your conversation ends, he stalks down the main stairs with a gold staff, a blue gem-like stone wedged at the top that seemed to glow, a compliment to how he somewhat buzzes with an energy you can't quiet place. His three piece suit accompanied by a long coat that reached his knees. An expensive green and gold scarf around his neck swished as he traversed the marble floors. His sleeked back hair shined- a nuance to the mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
Oh sweet baby Jesus.
With thoughts in mind, you didn't realize that he spun his staff and hit the body guards around the stairs, he then grabbed the CEO by the neck and flipped him over the table effortlessly with one hand.
He pulled out a shiny silver metal tool that started spinning, the tool continuing to spin as he shoved the sharp blades in his eye.
His cries of agony was the the first of many.
Immediately screams of panicked yells filled the room. Chaos and malice from the pandemonium of human instinct to run from danger. Your eyes flittered around the terrified crowd then back at him with this sick and twisted smile on his face, an expression out of pure amusement that nauseates at your insides. The absolute enjoyment he gets from the horrific scene before him unsettles you in ways you that your blood runs cold and your skin prickles in terror
People started running out of the building and into their cars trying to get away as far and as quick as possible to avoid getting involved into what this mans plan is, as soon as the tool stopped spinning he let go of him and left his cold lifeless body on the table.
He himself stalked out of the building, a calmed and satisfied look in his eyes- a stark contrast to the mayhem around him. In a shimmer of green enveloping his physique, the modern suit shifted to armored liked robes, now wearing the leather like armor similar to the one you saw previously but this one seemed shinier, more detailed, more regal and pulled together. The sharp contrast between the two robes you saw was the horned helmet adorning his head, and the previous staff taking into a scepter.
He was beautiful. Terrifying. Both? Those thoughts swirled around your mind in a way that spun your head uncomfortably.
"Kneel before me." He started out, when no one obeyed his words he hit the bottom of his scepter to the ground and cloned himself around the crowed and once more said, a conviction laced within his words.
"I said KNEEL!" He yelled in front of the cornered crowd, everyone obeyed and faced the man before us and kneeled at his command.
"Is not this simpler, is this not your natural state, it's the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation, the bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power, for identity, you were made to be ruled." He spoke clearly while walking through the crowd, a pleased smirk on his lips at the sight before him.
He looms over the knelt crowd, his eyes scan around and curiously spots you among the closely packed group of people, his smirk becoming a grin. He slowly started walking over to you but just as he was about to open his mouth to talk , he was blocked by none other than Captain frickin' America.
By the sudden appearance of America's golden boy, the guy with the scepter's grin vanishes leaving a surprised look but was quickly replaced by a smirk "The Soldier Boy" he says, not losing his amusement.
"You ok?" Captain America asks, you nod confirming that the other guy didn't make it to you, with your confirmation Cap nods and turns to the guy with the scepter.
Leaving your front, Cap walks over to him cancelling out the burst of power from the scepter with his shield and bouncing back at the raven haired oppponent.
With them distracted, you try your best to sneak away unnoticed but low and behold the guy with the scepter blasts you knocking the air out of your lungs and forcefully out of your throat, making you stumble back on the ground and letting darkness consume you.
