7 months later...

The team has made progress about Y/n's disappearance, well, all except Loki who occasionally gets seen twice a month and even in those rare occasions, his appearance has changed...to say the least.

His once well kept hair became oily and mangled, sticking out to all kinds of different places, his royal attire is stripped down to just wearing a shirt or hoodie paired with long overdue sweatpants and bags under his eyes.

The team tried every month to at least help him out but none would even come close to getting to their room. When someone knocks, he responds with a scowl, a yell to go away or just silence.

"It's been 7 months and we still don't have anything, I think we should put it at a rest for now." Clint said to Nat. Both were sat down on the couch

"I know but I'm still holding out hope that she can come back to us," Nat said looking down at her lap, fiddling with her fingers.

"Nat-" a loud beeping from the lab interrupted Clint's further words. Both of them stood up looking at each other and practically ran there, instincts immediately kicking in whenever a blare of sorts starts sounding out.

"Stark what's happening?" Nat poked her head in. She sees the two geek's panicked features.

"What is it?" Clint said entering the room.

"I-" Tony couldn't get the right words out, too stunned to speak. Nat nudged him, making him take a deep breath.

"It's an alert, someone broke in the Empire State Building." He finally got out, still in his daze.

"Oh shit, we should get down there." Clint said readying up.

"It's Y/n." Clint paused by the doorway at Tony's words.

"What did you say?" Nat said in disbelief.

"Y/n she- she's the one who did it, the security cams there showed her." Tony said while Nat sped over to his screen to see a smirking Y/n looking right at the camera. A few seconds later, Steve entered the room to see the concerning atmosphere.

It was silent. A pin drop could be heard in this silence. No one spoke as if they were all frozen, and quite frankly they were, the moment they were about to give up, a bombshell gets dropped on them and that bomb is one hell of an explosion.

"What's wrong?" Steve asked wearily, breaking the silence.

"Get everyone right here. Now." Nat said almost commanding. Steve nodded and got out of the room in a hurry.

She herself got out and made her way to their room, or I guess at this point Loki's room.

She knocked three times, no answer.

"Loki I think you wanna hear this. It's about Y/n"

She said to the door, hoping Loki would pick it up. When there wasn't an answer she was already turning back when the sound of the door sliding open made her stop.

"What about Y/n-, what about her?" Loki exasperated, tiredness lacing his voice and appearance. He looked at her with dull green eyes. Unlike before he had a tint of Mischief but now, it's a tired set of eyes that doesn't seem to have any hope left.

"It's Y/n, we found her." Nat spoke cautiously. Loki's brows scrunched as he slowly lifted his head to meet her eyes.

"Don't coy with me assasin." He said in a sneer. He has had too much pain and bitterness to ultimately just accept that maybe she is gone and then to be told the next minute that maybe she wasn't dead.

He can't bare any more fuck ups.

"I'm not playing with you Loki. If you want to come with us to go to her you're allowed just this once, but if you'd rather stay here cooped up then that's fine as well. All I saying is hope isn't far gone." Nat said choosing her words carefully.
