"Hydra just always manages to slip their hands into everything huh? I'm sorry you had to go through that. If you're willing—only if you're comfortable with it—would you be able to tell us your history with Hydra? " Cap said in a low, almost hushed tone.

"I'll try, but I can't promise you that you won't end up seeing me sob though." You tried to humor the group that tiredly hunched and rubbed their sleepy eyes. Everyone was woken up as soon as the word 'Hydra' left your lips.

You moved from the Lab to the living room.

You played with your shaky hands to distract yourself of your nerves. With a deep breath, you started your story.

"When I was a kid, roughly at the age of 8." You weren't sure since the memories are a bit foggy.

"My Dad was a scientist. The moment the word got to Hydra about my Dad's experiments, Hydra raided our house, killing my Mom and taking me, my Brother and my Dad with them." Your voice was in a hushed tone.

Your parents were always such a sensitive topic. The slight mention of them had you trembling. You did everything to divert the conversation elsewhere every time, but in this case you couldn't. You just have to suck it up and tell them. You need this, more than they do.

"Hydra basically forced my Dad to continue on his experiments but on people. Trying to make them have special abilities. Powers." Your eyes briefly slid up to them, they listened intently, clinging on every word that left your tongue.

"Eat up sweetheart, I made your favorite." Your Mother said while placing Y/f/f on your plate.

"But Mom I'm not hungry," you said in a whine, pouting and wanting to play more instead of eating the meal.

"Now now, listen to your Mother. She made this delicious meal. We don't want it to go to waste now do we?" Your Father said while taking a hefty spoon full of the homecooked meal. The moment it grazed his tongue, he instantly lit up and gave your Mother a loving look.

After all these years he still looks at her like the first day they met.

"It always amazes me how good your meals are, my love." He spoke softly while stroking the top of her hand gently.

"Oh stop, the kids are here." She said in a whisper, not wanting to make you and your brother uncomfortable, though she lets out a little giggle, his sweet words always made her feel butterflies no matter how much time passed.

The love they share was always your perspective on love, the bond and looks and gestures they give each other seems to always make you feel lucky that you're put in a loving home.

"Ew." Your brother says interrupting their moment. He scrunchies his nose in disgust. Obviously the young twelve year old isn't quite fond of their love like you are, both parents turn their attention to the boy and let's out a small laugh. That was the last pleasant sound you heard before a new gruesome chapter started in the book you call life.

In a quick motion. The sound of a helicopter rung through your ears and men in black, guarded suits kicked their way through your flimsy door and windows. Shattered glass and splinters of the wood rained like a storm.

In that short moment your ears started ringing, making everything muted, only able to hear the loud thump of your heartbeat and heavy breathing. It felt like time slowed, men everywhere that can kill you in just a click of button. Your parents screamed and fought them as best as they could.

Outmatched. Incredibly outmatched. A family of four against fifteen to twenty armed killers, bold to assume that, but when this just happened might as well think it.
