Maggie twists the doorknob. I bend my head down staring at my white toenails.

"Can- Shai," she says.

"Can I stay here for a couple nights?"

"Yeah. Yeah. Sure." Opening the door to her home, I move past her sitting on her couch. "Do you want a drink?"

"Water will be fine," I say.

"Ansel and you got into a fight?" Backing off the water pump, she handed me the glass.

"He was drunk. I cheated on him with Theo, Maggie. I'm such a idiot."

"Therefore you are. Shai, Theo has a girl friend!" She hit my shoulder softly with her available hand. "Don't let yourself down though. He'll get over it."

Get over it?

Maggie's fiance Dylan, enters the room with a towel over his neck along wearing a pair of black Calvin Klein boxers.

"Dylan, honey." Maggie says. "Company."

He quickly pulls on a shirt from a clean stack of new ones. Dylan then sits down next to Maggie.

"She's in labor?" He assumes. "Dial 911!"

"I'm fine Dylan, thank you. Bella isn't full term yet." I chuckled lightly.

"Ah, I can already tell... hazel eyes with dark brown hair. Maggie, you would have thought we'd had a child by now."

"Hahaha." Maggie laughs.

My hair itched my skin on the sides of my neck. I'm glad that I cut it.

Waking up to a backache and nausea, the smell of freshly picked flowers sparked my senses.

"They are for you." Maggie says. "Ansel came looking for you around 6 last night. Just- read the note."

I nod, reaching for the note in a dozen of orange tulips.

Dear Shai, I am moving back to New York. Yes, this is sudden. You may be asking why, why am I doing this to you, save it. Tommorow I want to reconcile with you. I want to be a family again in New York. Thanks, bye.

I crumble the letter. Bullcrap.

That afternoon, I drove home to get more clothes. Ansel was exiting the house when I was entering.

"Hey!" He says with enlightenment.

"I'm getting my things." I say shoving past him. "I'll be out your way in a few."

"Shai. What are you so peed off about?"

"Stop. Talking. To me."

"SHAI!" he shouts. I turn around this time, his body rushing to mine. In a quick second, our lips were parted with on another.

Spit lingering from his bottom lip, I bit mine. "Theo was a... a mistake."

He smooches me again. "No talking."
