Chapter 26

Naruto's POV

Last night, I slept cozily. Without any nightmares, without any uneasiness. In Sasuke's arms I felt safe. I didn't protest or push him away last night. I needed the heat he radiates. I needed to be in touch with him.

In the crowd of black suites and gowns, I feel suffocated. It feels like every one of them is just a shadow. Standing there praying silently. I feel pathetic even to look at my parents photo. They are screaming to bring them justice but I'm such a failure to come ahead.

I chose my freedom over the justice. I know I don't have that strength and power to fight back anymore. Being born from such strong parents, I ended up becoming a cowered. I only can shed tears silently in my dark bedroom. This is all I can do.

"Naruto, are you okay?" Kakashi asks seeing me standing there without any words. Beside me Fugaku Uchiha is standing as well with his glory. He doesn't have any expression on his face. He can't feel sad for them.

I reply to him,"I'm okay." Kakashi says,"We'll go back as soon as we can, okay?" I nod. I look at the small crowd gathered around Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha.

Nobody didn't even think about sparing me a glance, some of them just looked at me thinking of me as some pitiful creature. I'm grateful to those who find me uninteresting to even look at me. I hate their eyes.

I feel someone's hand on my waist. I look up and see two familiar eyes looking at me. Sasuke asks,"The weather is cold. Let's go back to the mansion." I follow him right after he asked me to go back. This useless get together is making me feel more enraged.

I was sitting there playing with my fingers and constantly spacing out. The clock is tickling and that sounds pretty loud in this silence. Sasuke is sitting without any words too. My head hurts slightly. I feel my phone vibrating.

I take the phone and check the screen. The number of Sai is floating on my screen. I don't feel like talking and explaining to him. I turn the switch off immediately. I'll tell him everything after I return.

Sasuke says,"Will you be okay if I just go out for some time today? I have some important business." I look at his face. Why won't I be okay? I tell him,"I'll be fine as long as I'll be alone." Sasuke says,"I'll make sure that nobody disturbs you." I nod.

Sasuke gets up and touches my chin. He plants a soft kiss on my cheek and caresses my face. He says,"This place makes you look gloomy. I won't force you to come back here again." I remain silent. Sasuke gives a light peck on my lips and says before turning his back to leave,"I'll be back sooner than you think."

It's been quite a long time since Sasuke left. I thought I would feel good to be alone but now it feels hard to breath. I cried, cried after a long time. I curl myself into a ball and sniffle. My hair is messy and the shirt beneath my suit is probably wrinkled.

I look at the clock and it's almost evening. I hear the creaking sound of the door that is being opened. I hear soft footsteps. I didn't turn my back until I felt someone's presence behind me.

I felt someone's hot breath on my neck and then I turn my back and almost hit my head against the man who just came in. I speak being a little surprised,"Itachi?" Itachi gets up and says looking a little bit startled,"I thought you were sleeping."

I wipe my eyes and sit properly. He looks at me and says,"I heard you didn't eat anything." I tell him,"I wasn't hungry." Suddenly my stomach makes an embarrassing sound and my eyes grow big. Itachi says,"Looks like you are lying. Get up and let's go out."

Itachi turns his back and pushing his hand inside the pocket of his pants. I yell,"Where! I'm not going!" Itachi ignores the commotion I'm making.

He says without even looking back,"I'm waiting outside. Be quick."
Itachi closes the door on his way. I get up and stand there without any thoughts. What should I do?

I ended up changing my clothes and going outside. Itachi was waiting for me like he said. I thought about refusing but lying down and waiting in the room feels really suffocating. Being with Itachi can be even worse but if I don't piss him off, he won't possibly do anything harmful to me.

I ask him on our way to his car,"Where are we going?" Itachi answers in his calm voice,"To eat." I tell him,"But I said I wasn't hungry." Itachi says while opening the door of his car,"But your stomach told me something else."

Why is he even caring for me that he's taking me out to buy me food? He would love to see me dying there out of hunger. But I ended up coming with him without any resistance. This could be a trap.

Itachi drives me to a restaurant that looks quite expensive. The cloth I'm wearing doesn't go with the restaurant. Itachi is wearing a black shirt and he looks fine but I'm just wearing a hoodie and my hair isn't styled well.

Itachi orders food for me. I ask him,"Aren't you going to eat as well?" Itachi says,"No I'm fine with some wine." I ate some portion of the food with the upset stomach of mine. I couldn't feel the taste of the food. The only thing I felt was Itachi's eyes on me. The whole time I felt intimidated.

We both leave the restaurant. Both I and Itachi have shades and masks on. Itachi can be spotted easily and being with him people can start making rumours about me. They can even find out about me being the lost son of Minato Namikaze. My face resembles my father too much after all.

Itachi asks me as he starts to drive again,"Do you want to go to somewhere else?" I raise my eyebrows and give him a questioning look. He says,"Shopping or something like that." I tell him,"No, take me back to the mansion."

Itachi says,"Don't order me around like I'm your servant." I mumble an apology. Itachi takes a turn. I speak,"This isn't the way we came from." Itachi doesn't reply to me and keeps driving. I hope he doesn't kill me and throw my body somewhere.

The car was moving slowly and the sky is dark now. This side of the city is lot more calm than the other side. Suddenly Itachi takes his phone out and looks at the screen of for some seconds while driving with his other hand.

He stops his car and says,"Wait for some minutes. I'm coming back." Itachi opens the door leaving me in the car and steps outside. Maybe he's having a phone call with someone outside. I look at the road that is empty without any vehicle.

Suddenly two figures come out that I can see clearly through the car window. I narrow my eyes a little and recognise them immediately. Isn't that Sasuke and Sakura?

Another figure comes out from the only club that is here. The guy who is also here is Rock Lee. Does Sasuke still hang around them? This is such an unexpected coincidence. I can't even believe that the timing is so perfect to see them at this spot at the same time.

I see them talking calmly. Sakura seems like having a smoke and Sasuke's mouth is moving. Lee is standing beside Sakura like he's giving her a protection. Sakura still has that mean look on her face that I can see clearly.

From the narrow road and not so much distance between us I can see their every movement but can't hear them talking. I look around to find Itachi but don't see him near the car.

I look back at them again. Sasuke left me for hours and he told me he'll be coming back soon. I thought he had something really important to do here but seems like he was just having fun with his old allies in this shabby club that is in the quieter side of the city.

I take a deep breath and then let out a sigh. I was being a fool again for having expectations from him. I wish I could remove the remaining feelings I have for him totally. Seems like I'm still not over him.

I hear the sound of the door closing and turning my head to see Itachi taking his seat. He says,"I'm done." Then he follows my gaze and see the group of three on the other side of the road having a chat. Itachi says before starting the car,"Seems like Sasuke is still in touch with Haruno."
