Naruto's POV

I came back to school after all. I don't see the infamous group of Sasuke. Of course I don't want to cross paths with Neji. He's a trouble. I was staring at the door of the classroom waiting for Sai to show up. There's a lot of things I have to know.

Sai usually comes to school early but today he didn't come. The class teacher already entered the room but Sai was the one who didn't show up. The classes end quickly and I make my way to the cafeteria.

I ordered ramen for me and was on my way to the seat but suddenly Kiba catches my attention. He was chatting with a bunch of guys over there. I gather my courage and go to the side where they are standing.

I tug on his shirt and Kiba quickly turns to the person who just did that and realizes it's me. Kiba looks surprised. He asks with a smile on his face,"What are you doing here Naruto? I thought you didn't like me."

I reply to him,"That's not it. I'm just here to ask you why didn't Sai show up today? He never misses classes." Kiba chuckles and says,"Then you must be feeling lonely, huh? Why don't join me?"

I click my tongue in annoyance and tell him,"Just tell me if you know anything about him. Is he sick?" Kiba replies,"No, he isn't. Actually he's in school but skipped classes." My eyes grow bigger hearing his answer. He isn't someone who always does that.

I ask him,"Do you know where he is? I need to talk to him." Kiba says,"I can't tell where he is now but you can check the roof. It's his usual spot." I mutter a thank you before leaving him.

I quickly finish the bowl of ramen because I didn't want to waste that much food and after that I head to the roof. Literally nobody goes there but I knew Sai goes there sometimes to take a nap or just to have some fresh air.

I took the stairs to go up and luckily I find the door of the roof is opened. Going there I see Sai's familiar figure standing there back facing me. His hair is moving slightly being hit by the air and the cool breeze really feels good.

I go over there and he immediately notices my presence and look back to me. He looks surprised but quickly his face returns to the calm expression. He says chuckling lightly,"Ohh you found me then." I go to his side and stand against the railing. I reply to him,"Yeah, I asked Kiba and he told me that you could be here."

He looks straight and says,"Couldn't you figure it out by yourself? You should know me better than him." His face is calm but he sounds like he's complaining. I tell him,"I thought you are just absent and you are sick." He sighs and keeps looking straight.

I don't know what's going inside his mind but seems like we have a lot to talk about. I start speaking,"About yesterday, I'm sorry for what happened. I dragged you into the mess I created. Did they do any other thing to you after I left with Sasuke?"

I touch his face and make him look at me. He doesn't resist and looks at me. I touch all over his face and see no bruises on his face. He seems alright. He's looking straight into my eyes and finding it kind of uncomfortable I turn away. I tell him,"I'm glad that nothing happened to you."

Sai says,"Why is always it Sasuke who's around you and causing you trouble? Why do you always keep your mouth shut around him? Why do you have to be so afraid?" He's still looking at me that I saw from the corner of my eyes. I can't answer that question. This is unnecessary for him to know.

I reply to him trying to wave it off,"It's nothing. I just always end up in the wrong place." Sai says,"That's not it. There's something you are hiding. You are not supposed to be like this. I thought I'm the closest person to you but seems like I thought it wrong."
