Chapter 28

Naruto's POV

"The fuck are you trying to say? What good will happen to you if you stick to them?" Sai almost yells. Why is he even reacting like this? I tell him politely,"I know you are worried about me but you are just overreacting."

Sai says,"You know Sasuke isn't someone who is good. His brother also hangs around with Yahiko. They aren't good people." I tell him,"I know they aren't good but you also used to hang out with Neji. Did you become like him?"

Sai frowns. He keeps staring at me and says,"Why are you defending them?" I tell him sighing,"Look, I'm not defending them. I just don't like it sometimes when you act like this for no reason. Didn't I tell you the whole story?"

I look away from his face feeling disappointed. He was just silent. After some minutes of silence Sai comes onto me hugging me out of nowhere. He says,"I'm sorry Naruto. I'm just too scared when it comes to you. I'm just afraid of loosing you."

I ask him,"Why would you be scared?" Sai replies,"The truth is, you are the only friend I've ever had. People who act friendly toward me are just a bunch of fakes. Even Neji, he had some disgusting motives behind his act. I was so vulnerable when I had to leave them."

I sigh and pat his back feeling defeated by his overwhelming feelings for me. I tell him,"I'll be a good friend to you. Don't worry." Sai nudges his face against my shoulder and keeps holding me.

When I went for the club activity, I didn't see Yahiko there. I sighed feeling relieved. Every time I feel his eyes on me, I feel really uncomfortable and anxious.

"Hey, can you pass me that book?" Ino speaks to me for the first time after joining the club. I hand her the book. She says,"Ahh, thanks." She looks awkward. I nod and was about to leave her side but she stops me again by speaking for the second time,"Do you have some minutes?"

I tell her,"What is it?" Ino says,"You are quite unapproachable like they say." I ask her,"Who told you that I'm unapproachable?" She shrugs her shoulders and says,"None, I just made it up." I tell her feeling annoyed,"Seems like you are here to make fun of me. I better go."

She raises her voice and says,"Wait! I just wanted to ask about Sasuke." She already catched a lot of attention by muttering Sasuke's name. She asks,"Is he okay?" I feel more annoyed seeing her being this much thoughtful.

I speak,"Why do you think I'll know about Sasuke's whereabouts? Do we look like friends to you?" Ino says,"You are more than that. I know it." I frown and keep looking at her. She says,"After the fight with Neji, one thing is clear. Everything is happening because of you. You are the reason for them to fight."

I ask her,"Do you blame me for it? Was I at the sight of the fight?" Ino says,"You weren't but it was clear. I heard a lot of things. Look, you already have Sai following you like your puppet. I don't know what you have in you but I want you to leave Sasuke."

I tell her,"You are really dumb, aren't you?" Ino says,"Maybe I'm. I've heard that a lot." I tell her trying to insult her a bit,"Yeah, a beauty with no brain." Ino sighs.

She says,"I have nothing against you but you can't be the person to fix Sasuke. You'll end up ruining him more." I tell her smirking,"If he wants to be ruined knowing everything, let him do that. You don't have any place in this story."

I see some guys getting up from their seats and running outside hurriedly. What are they doing? I yell,"Hey where are you going!" One of them cared to stop and says,"The Uchiha and Hyuga are fighting!" Saying that he runs off.

Ino and I both exchange glances and then both make a run following the students in front us. This is an amusement for everyone in this school.

There's a small crowd in that big  classroom and I already hear their voices. This fight won't end well. I push the crowd trying to move forward. When I managed to go near, I see them.

Sasuke is holding Neji's collar. Hinata is standing there with others not doing anything even after seeing his brother being beaten badly. Surprisingly Yahiko and his friends are here too. Maybe this is the reason they weren't at the club.

Neji is looking right into Sasuke's eyes and Sasuke is fumming. Sasuke is furious. Gaara shouts,"Hey! Get the hell out of here." He throws a glare to everyone in this room who came here just to watch. They start to move slowly after that and then one by one everyone leaves being fearful of Gaara except for me and Ino.

Gaara didn't make any effort to kick us out. That means we are allowed to be here. Sasuke says to Neji,"Maybe I should kill you." Neji says daring him to do that,"Isn't this the only thing you Uchihas can do?" Sasuke shakes him violently and says,"What do you think you are saying? You sound like a Clown."

Neji chuckles looking lost all of a sudden. This fight is much more intense then I thought. And around them everyone is making a circle seeing everything without any effort of stopping them.

I don't have courage to go ahead and do something. It's like it's none of business. Neji says,"I thought you are a man of one word but I guess I was wrong." Sasuke narrows his eyes. He says,"Is that what you were thinking? I didn't think that you were stupid."

Neji clicks his tongue. Sasuke lets go of his collar and Neji Gets up. Suddenly I feel someone's eyes on me and looking up, I see Yahiko smirking at me.

Neji speaks,"The place you are in, it was mine. I gave it all to you. All of them used to follow me but I gave my position up. Why do you think I did all of this?" Sasuke looks more pissed. Sasuke says,"What position? You were a fucking loner."

Neji charges at Sasuke all of a sudden swinging his fist but Sasuke skillfully dodged it and landed a hit on Neji. There's no way Neji can win this, I know. Neji's face becomes more bruised and Hinata could not help but come forward to help his brother.

I see her whispering to his brother but Neji pushes her away making her fall. Neji gets up once again. I know he's lost his temper already. Sasuke speaks,"When I came here, you were the one who approached me. Treated me like I'm a treasure you just found. You were using me all along but I ended up using you using another method. Don't even think about comparing me to you."

Neji says,"But I told you why I'm doing this. You agreed with me." Neji's eyes showed desperation for some split second. Sasuke chuckles mockingly. Sasuke goes forward but Neji is brave enough not to take any step back ignoring the dark aura around Sasuke.

Sasuke says,"It was all because that nuisance Sai." I feel chills just by hearing Sai's name from Sasuke's mouth. Sasuke continues,"How fucking stupid you are. Even though I agreed to help but you were the one messing everything up and making him hate you more than before. For you, he ended up meddling in my own matter."

What does even that mean? Is it about me and Sasuke? Sasuke says,"Why did you think that finally you got to know everything about me?" Sasuke goes closer and says in a voice full of threat,"But to tell you the truth, you know nothing about me."

Neji's eyes grow bigger. Neji tries to push Sasuke away. Sasuke says,"This place was never yours. Like they say, Hyuga siblings are fucking outcasts. I, Sasuke Uchiha can never be as pitiful as you." Neji tries to say something but seems like his voice holds no power anymore.

Sasuke says,"I have my father who is behind me to back me up unlike your father. He cares for my wellbeing unlike your father. I am not a coward like you. I have everything. There's nothing common between us. The whole time, you were the burden everyone was pretending to carry."

Nobody said any word like every words Sasuke is saying are the truth. Hinata is standing there lowering her gaze. Why do I feel suddenly bad for them?

Sasuke's lips curl up to a smirk. He says observing Neji's face,"I don't need you to get Naruto back. You were no use for me from the very first." My eyes widen. I already catched all of their attentions after Sasuke declared that. So, everything was all for me. I was the main reason.

Neji looks defeated. He chuckles looking miserable. He stands straight and look into Sasuke's eyes. He says in his low but hearable voice,"Now I understand everything. Let me help you for the last time Sasuke, by giving you an useful advice......Your biggest threat won't be any outsider.  Maybe the person who'll be able to break you completely will be someone who has all of your trust. Keep your eyes open."

Neji extends his hand toward Hinata and Hinata quickly holds him. She pushes Temari making their way. I saw them leaving. Seems like they lost the fight but one thing Neji managed to do and that is, he left Sasuke confused and speechless.
