Chapter 44

Nobody's POV

Naruto is slowly recovering and he was allowed to leave the hospital but he couldn't do that. He's been living here since then because of Sasuke who is still unconscious.

"Naruto, you don't need to look after him anymore. You have school." Mikoto says. Naruto couldn't think of looking up to her face to see if she's actually concerned or not. Naruto doesn't have energy to observe everything.

He is still keeping his head low as he's trying to hide his face that has become pale even though he had such nice tan skin before. He says smiling even though his mind is roaming around Sasuke,"I don't want to leave him all alone here. I want to stay here by his side, I should."

Mikoto says wisely before turning her head,"If this is what you want. I'll make sure you stay here comfortably." Saying that he turned her back to head for the exit. Naruto sighs.

Thanks to the influence of Mikoto Uchiha Naruto's getting to stay here in the hospital. He'll be fine as long as he's beside Sasuke. Being a busybody, Fugaku Uchiha is never around.

He came to see Sasuke time to time that seemed rather half-hearted to Natuto as if Sasuke is the least of his worries. Itachi comes whenever he wants to and just always stare at his brother through the glass window. Naruto has never seen him going inside the room or going closer to Sasuke.

Naruto was told that his presence here is unnecessary and He was aware of that too because Sasuke never needed his help. But thinking of him lying all alone with no one beside him is what scares him. Naruto doesn't want him to be all miserable.

"Naruto?" Naruto heard a familiar voice calling for him. He turned around to see Sai coming inside. Naruto chuckles as he tells him,"You don't have to go back and forth for me. This is a hassle for you I know." Sai says,"Of course it's not! I can't let you be bored here."

Sai puts a packet on the table and says,"This has some fruits. Do you want some now?" Naruto tells him,"No, I don't have any apatite." Sai frowns as he says,"You are all skin and bones. I will peel some apples for you. Just sit still."

He surely is bossy when he needs to be. Sai says as he is busy peeling,"Do you know that Neji and Hinata has transferred elsewhere?" Naruto tells him,"Yeah they are supposed to go abroad." Sai looks surprised as he looks up. He asks,"How do you know that!"

Naruto says,"I had a chat with Hinata once. She told me." Sai says,"Ohh, that's good. Maybe this way he'll be able to stay out of trouble." Naruto asks him smirking,"Do you care about him?" Sai says straight denying it,"No, I don't. I just hate him."

Sai says handing over the plate to Naruto full with fresh cut apple slices,"Now eat up. I'll look at you while you do that." Naruto says rolling his eyes,"That would be creepy." Sai says,"Stop talking already."

Sai was always in the dark about what is going on around Naruto. He didn't feel like sharing these things with him as he felt it'd be safer for him to not know anything. Sai had a nice future ahead of him and Naruto didn't trust Sasuke.

But getting bored in the hospital and finding it pointless, Naruto ended up telling Sai everything that has happened to him. Naruto doesn't know Sai's thoughts about him as he just listened to all things he had to say silently.

Naruto told him about his past before but he wasn't fully aware of the obsessiveness of Sasuke and now he knows all of it. Sai has every reason to hate Sasuke but still he hasn't said anything about leaving Sasuke all alone to suffer or anything.

Sai is surprisingly considerate. It's just he hasn't said anything. Naruto just doesn't know what he's thinking and that doesn't matter as well.

Sai has gone back as he has school to attend to. He's providing Naruto with notes and everything he would need even though Naruto is not worrying about those. Naruto gets off of the bed as he has an urge to see Sasuke. He slipped his feet into the slipper and go for the door.
