Chapter 20
Desiree's pov
I felt my whole body shaking as I realized that my father had taken the love of my life away from me and the only way I can save him is to give myself up to my ass of a father.
Tears fell from my eyes as I thought about Ian and if he was ok or not. He was the only thing on my mind and I couldn't get him out.
The hours slowly flew by and every now and then one of the boys would come and check on me telling me that they'll find Ian soon.
But in truth I knew the only way to find him was to give myself over to my father.
When it was 9:30pm I told the boys I was going for a walk. Adam offered to go with me but I shook my head and said "No I just really need to be alone."
He nodded and hugged me before saying "Okay, just please be careful."
I nodded and pulled back and kissed his cheek and said "I will."
I walked out the door and headed downstairs to wait for my father to show up.
I looked at my watch and saw both hands creeping closer to the ten and twelve marks.
When it was finally 10:00 I looked up and saw my father and two other guys walking behind him in the door.
Taking a deep breath I walked towards him and said "What did you do with Ian?"
My father chuckled and said "You don't need to worry about your precious vampire, he's just fine in fact he's on his way in here right now."
About that time two guys brought a struggling Ian in and when I saw what happened to his face I couldn't help but cover my mouth with my hand.
When Ian saw me he broke free and ran up to me and pulled me into his arms.
I began sobbing as I looked up and asked "What happened to your face?"
He sighed and said "Just a mix up it's nothing. You're the one that matters, not me."
I looked up at him and said "No you mean everything to me Ian. Your life matters to please don't say you don't matter when you do."
He gently kissed me and said "Okay I'm sorry I just missed you so much."
I kissed him back and said "I missed you too. I cried when you were taken."
He held me close and we both ignored the fact that my father was standing in front of us.
Looking over at him I sighed and said "Ok so he's back but yet you're going to take me away from him. Thanks for nothing dad."
Stefan looked at me for a moment then sighed and said "I give up you were braver than I thought and I'm done trying to get you to bare my children."
I looked at him shocked before I said "W-what?"
He sighed and said "I'm done trying Desiree."
Standing there shocked I couldn't move anything so I just stood there and watched him with a shocked look on my face.
He chuckled and said "You actually believe me?"
I slowly backed up with Ian but was pushed away and Ian stood in front of me in a protective stance.
Stefan chuckled and said "Boys stay back; this is between me and my daughters lover boy."
I stood back as far as I could and watched with my body shaking as Ian and Stefan circled each other both in fighting stances.
Stefan started throwing taunts at Ian to see if he could get Ian to crack, but I knew Ian wouldn't because he was so strong when it came to protecting me.
"You're nothing but a puny vampire Ian. You're not a real man at all."
Ian chuckled and said "I'm a better man than you will ever be."
Stefan shook his head and said "How could anyone love you? You're a slim ball and you don't deserve any girl that walks towards you."
Ian glared hard at Ian and said "At least I have someone to love."
Stefan growled and launched himself towards Ian but Ian dodged just in time because Stefan rammed right into the front desk.
I flinched at the noise but turned to see Ian standing still looking right at Stefan.
I wanted to run to Ian but knew better so I stayed where I was and watched painfully as Stefan turned back to Ian and began to run at him.
Ian stood ready and grabbed Stefan by the neck and flung him across the room like a rag doll.
I pressed up against the wall and watched as my father screamed and get up before trying to attack Ian again.
I watched as Ian ran forward and nocked my father on the ground again before punching his face and chest repeatedly until my father blocked a hit and shoved Ian off of him.
I gasped as Ian hit a pillar and slowly sank to the floor.
Tears started to fall and I dropped to my knees and watched as my father moved closer to Ian.
My eyes never left Ian's figure and as Stefan got closer Ian suddenly stood up and nocked Stefan off his feet and back onto the floor again.
My eyes widen as I realized that Ian was only pretending to be hurt. He fooled my father just to try and knock him on his feet.
It worked and my father laid on the floor and looked up at Ian before saying "You really think you can win?"
Ian nodded and said "If it means getting killed to save Desiree, then that's what I'll do."
Gasping I look up at Ian and say "No you can't say that Ian."
He looked back at me and said "It's my job to protect you Desiree and if getting killed means protecting you then that's what I'll have to do."
I couldn't stop the noise coming from my throat and I fell on my knees and began to quietly sob as I replayed his words in my head.
I heard a crash and looked up with blurry eyes and say my father went through the window and Ian was standing in the middle of the room watching my father struggle to get up.
Ian chuckled and said "You are worthless Stefan."
He began to turn around but Stefan was already up and he started to go toward Ian so I did the only thing I could think of; I jumped up from the floor and ran toward Ian.
Stefan ran supper fast and I jumped between Ian and Stefan.
Stefan rammed into me causing me to fly back and hit my back against the wall. I groaned and laid down feeling pain shoot through my body.
I was dizzy and I felt sick. I heard a growly and someone was tearing something up. Then I felt myself being picked up and I fell myself lose consciousness.
