Chapter 13: don't be afraid

~ Previously ~
You have to be there for Vanessa no mater how scared you are." I said and he finally looked up at me and looked me in the eyes. I couldn't tell if he understood or if he was mad, sad, or still scared.
~ Now ~
"Um....Austin?" He finally said with a shaky voice.
"Yeah?"
"Can you carry her upstairs show me how to hold her and how to care for her. Like how to clean her cuts or what to do if she starts hurting in the middle of the night?" He aske looking down again. I looked over at Vanessa and she was now sleeping, but I just realized that she didn't have a shirt on just a bra. Then I remembered that I took off of her shirt to reach her cuts better.
"Yeah I will carry her up, but if she starts hurting in the middle of the night just come get me and I will clean her cuts in the morning." I said and put my hands on my knees and stood up. I walked over to where Vanessa laid sleeping and kneeled next to her. Joe was now standing behind me looking over my shoulder at what I was doing. I slowly slid one arm under her legs and my other arm under her back. I gently pulled her up and stood up. I slowly walked over to the stairs so she wouldn't wake up and climbed them with Joe walking behind me. I walked into her room and over to her bed. I gently laid her down on it and went to her closet and opened it. I went through her clothes and found a shirt a change of pants and new underwear for Vanessa and walked back into her room. I walked over to Joe who was now standing next to her bed looking at her and handed him the clothes. He took them and looked at me. I could see the fear he had in his eyes to hurt her. I took the clothes back and walked to the other side of her bed and kneeled on the edge of her bed and sat her up and put her shirt on. I then reached up the back of her shirt and unclipped her bra and took her arms out of the straps and took it off of her and then took the blankets off of her. I took off her skinny jeans and looked at Joe and threw her new panties at him and he looked at me. He then threw the panties back at me as if to say 'you have my permission' and I rolled my eyes. I really didn't want to see my almost sister-in-law naked but she had dry blood on them from her cut that stopped right above the elastic band of her panties. I quickly pulled off her panties and put her new clean panties on her and looked at Joe. I then looked at Vanessa again and grabbed her sweat pants from on the floor and put them on her too. I then laid her back under the blankets and pulled the blankets over her. I then got off her bed and looked at Joe
"Thanks" he whispered nearly audible and looked down ashamed
"That was unpleasant but it needed to happen. Joe you need to get passed this fear of hurting her. I am a vampire. I have a better chance of hurting any werewolf I come across but I don't think about it I just do it. You can't think of the worst that will happen or it will. Don't think, just do." I then walked over to him and grabbed his arm. I dragged him to the opposite side of the bed (the side that Vanessa wasn't on)and pushed him on to the bed and he laid with her under the blankets.
"Just be careful and come get me if she wakes up. At all."
He then nods and kisses her on the cheek. I walk over to her and put my hand on her forehead to see if it was warm, it wasn't, I then bent over and kissed her forehead and said goodnight to Joe. I walked out of her room and back into ally's room. She wasn't on her bed anymore and the shower was running now. I walked into the bathroom and stood in front of the shower
"Ally" I said loud enough for her to hear me and I guess I scared her because she yelled and seconds later the shampoo bottle flew up above the shower and fell back down and there was a loud thud. I yanked open the shower curtain and turned off the water. she was on the floor and looked at me. she had a little cut on her forehead where I'm guessing the pump of the bottle hit her.
"What the heck austin are you trying to give me a heart attack?" She yelled. I just chuckled and turned around and grabbed her towel. I bent down next to the tub and helped her stand up. I then helped her dry off her wet body and wrapped the towel around her body. I then picked her up bridal style and carried her to her room and set her on the bed I walked into her closet and came out seconds later with a tank top and a pair of sweats. I then walked over to where I set her on the bed and grabbed her tank top and put it on her.
"Austin I can dress myself." She said
"I know" I said. I then grabbed her panties and bent down I front of her and she stood up and I pulled them up I then grabbed her sweats from the bed and she took them out of my hands and put them on herself and looked at me. I chuckled at her confused face and she playfully hit my chest
"What was that about mister?" She asked
"Well Joe was scared to even touch Vanessa so I had to carry her up stairs and I had to change her into new clothes and panties so I felt guilty like I just cheated or something so I did it to you too almost the same way except she was sleeping and you are not." I said and she hugged me
"I understand. Thank you for caring so much about Vanessa." she said and I hugged back. I kissed the top of her head and I remembered the blood on her head. I picked her up and carried her to the bathroom. I set her on the counter and got a hand towel and the hydrogen peroxide and wet the towel. I then wiped her head and cleaned her cut with the hydrogen peroxide and put a bandaid on her cut. I then smiled at her and she smiled back. I pick her up and carried her back into her room and put her in her bed and placed the blankets over her. I the walked to the door and opened it.
"Hey where are you going?" She said
"I'm going to talk to my mom" I said and walked out. I walked down the stairs and into the living room. She was sitting on the couch waiting for me.
"How is Vanessa?" She asked
"Good I had to change her and carry her upstairs but I'm cool with it" I said and sat down next to her
"I just put ally to bed I think. Unless she is still up. But you can use the guest room if you want" I said looking at her "it's the door after Vanessa's room. but I am exhausted so I'm going to bed now" I said and stood up
"Wait" she said and I looked at her she stood up and hugged me "you did good Austin." she said and pulled away
"Thanks mom." I then leaned over and kissed her forehead and walked up stairs with her following me and went into ally's room and my mom went into the guest room I then walked over to ally's dresser where I keep my extra clothes and grabbed shorts. I took off my pants and put the shorts on and took off my shirt and reach for another shirt in the drawer. I turned around looking down about to put the shirt on
"Wow" I heard someone say and I screeched throwing my head up looking at ally who was still up looking at me wide eyed. Well she was actually looking at my abs or my chest I don't even know. She then broke out laughing
"Don't put a shirt on." She said and I looked at her
"Ally why are you still up?" I asked
"Because I was waiting for you." She said I then looked at her and put the shirt away I then put my dirty clothes in the dirty clothes hamper and walked over to the bed and got in with her. I laid down next to her and she crawled over to me and laid down. She placed her head and right arm on my chest and I put my arms around her and turned onto my side and pulled her closer. I she then snuggles closer to my chest and fell asleep immediately. I then chuckled, turned off the lights, kissed her head, and fell asleep with my arms tightly around her.
