TW panic attack, mention of rape, and torture

I'm finally free Mama, you can rest at ease. I sent all my love up to her, knowing she could feel it. I was free.

1st Person POV (Alexandrya)

"I think it is time we all get some rest. We have plenty of room here." The King told us. The Avengers had been staying here for a couple of nights already, so they all left to their rooms. Shuri walked over to me and said

"I can show you to your room if you'd like." I nodded

"That would be greatly appreciated." We started walking down the halls, and I made sure to memorize the path. Breaking the silence, I asked,

"Do you guys have a training area as well?"

"We do indeed, it's just down that hall and to the left." I made a mental note of where it was. We walked for another minute before stopping at a door.

"This one's yours. I shall bid you goodnight now." Shuri smiled and walked off. I watched her go with a whispered thanks.

Entering the room, I immediately scanned it for anything that could be used against me. All possible exits. All possible weapons. I had to be prepared. HYDRA would stop at nothing to get their greatest weapon back.

The room was large, with a king-sized bed in the middle, a balcony overlooking the kingdom - I made sure to lock that door - with a small chair outside, a large closet that was empty, a bathroom attached, and a bookshelf. It was full of stories of all lengths and difficulties. I smiled, reading was one of my favorite things to do. Doubt crept into my mind as I looked at the books.

Do I remember how to read?

Pushing the thoughts away, I walked over to the large bed in the middle of the room and looked at it. I sat down and immediately jumped off. Too comfortable.

A monster like you doesn't deserve comfort.

I sighed, knowing that voice was correct. I found a spot against the wall, away from the door, and lay down. I lay there for an hour until I heard the footsteps in the bathroom. I stealthily crept to the room, my daggers drawn and flipped the light on. It was empty. Completely empty. No windows, and only one door, which was the door I had been watching. I realized there was nothing there, I was imagining it and went back to my spot on the floor.

This happened to me three more times before I gave up on sleeping. I walked over to the bookshelf and pulled one off. It was called A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. (A/N: This is a real book. It is amazing. Sarah J. Maas is my favorite author. I highly recommend.)

I chose a couple more from the shelf and walked out onto the balcony. Sitting in the chair, I began to read by the light of the moon.

Before I knew it, the sun was creeping over the hills. It was morning. I had finished the entire A Court of Thorns and Roses Series and started the Throne of Glass series, also by Sarah J. Maas. A knock on my door startled me from the books and I walked over. I opened the door to see the red-head, Natasha I think her name was, standing there. She had clothes in her hand.

"Hello?" It came out as more of a question than I intended, my voice hinted with a bit of tiredness. She held the clothes out, a faint blush on her cheeks.

"Hi Alexandrya, I didn't think you had any clothes to change into and I thought you may want to get out of those. We look about the same size so I brought some of mine. It's okay if you don't want them though -" I cut her off by taking the clothes, not realizing that I had just made the usually unreadable Natasha Romanoff ramble.
