"It's about Neveah."
1st Person POV (Alexandrya)
My whole world stopped turning at that sentence.
"What is it?" I asked quietly, bringing my eyes up to meet Tony's.
"Her vitals are steady. She's awake. But -" I didn't wait to hear the rest of what Tony had to say. I ran out of the room and down to the Medbay. Neveah was sitting up in bed, looking around.
"Where am I?" She asked, surveying the room.
"The Avengers Compound. You've been asleep for 5 days." She looked at me and her eyes widened.
"Stay away. You're the reason I'm here. You're the reason they hurt me." She sounded terrified and my heart broke.
"I know. I know, Nev, and I'm so sorry you got dragged into my past. If I was stronger, I could have saved you. I'm sorry." I apologized, making sure to keep my distance as she asked.
Bruce walked in, carrying a glass of water, and I flinched but forced myself to stay. I needed to be there for Neveah. His eyes flicked between the two of us before he turned to Neveah.
"Hello, Neveah. I brought you back some water. Is there anything else I can get you?" He asked.
"Get her out. I don't want a monster like her around me." Hearing those words broke me. Struggling to keep the tears from my eyes, I nodded and left.
My room was empty when I arrived.
"FRIDAY, please lock the door. I don't want anyone to come in." I whispered, tears building up.
"Of course, Alexandrya." She sounded unsure and I realized that she wouldn't hesitate to open the door for anyone.
"Don't let anyone in no matter what. Please." I said.
I then sat down on the couch.
Get her away from me!
She's a monster!
It's all your fault.
The tears came full force. She hated me.
3rd Person POV
"FRIDAY, open the door." Bucky's muffled voice came through the door.
"I'm sorry, Seargent Barnes, but I can't. She has requested that I let no one in." FRIDAY said.
"Please, doll. Let me in. Tell me what's going on." He pleaded.
"FRIDAY, get Tony please." Bucky said.
"Contacting him now. He is on his way."
"Hey, Cyborg. What's up?" Tony said as he walked up to Bucky.
"I can't get in. Lex is hurting but FRIDAY won't let me in." Bucky said.
"Hey FRI, open the door please." Tony said.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Stark, but I can't. She has requested that I let no one in." FRIDAY said again.
"FRI, override code 20-15-14-25. Open the door." Tony's voice came too.
"Override code accepted. Opening doors now." FRIDAY said.
They opened the door, but she was already gone.
1st Person POV (Alexandrya)
I sat by the memory pond. The beautiful colors of Ispen surrounded me. I slowly lay my hand on the surface of the water and let it draw on my magic.
"Little Lex" I looked up.
"Mama?" I whispered. She nodded. I wrapped my arms around her, but they went right through. It was just her spirit.
"What happened, Little One?"
"So much. Too much." She sat down and motioned for me to sit next to her. As I told her about what had happened, one thought was weighing on my mind.
"And then they told me she really was alive. Neveah was still alive." I said, smiling.
"No. That's not true. Neveah's up here with me." My mother said confused.
"W-what? No, she's at the compound." I said equally confused. My mother extended a hand and my best friend appeared behind her.
"W-who are you?" I asked.
"Lex? It's me, Neveah. Don't you remember me?" She looked crestfallen.
"You're not dead though. You're at the compound." I said.
"Lex, I died years ago. Fighting Hela." She said.
"Then who's down on Earth? Who was just kidnapped with me? Who did I kiss?" I asked.
"You kissed them, thinking it was me?" Neveah asked.
"Well, yeah. I like you a lot." I said. She smiled.
"I like you too." I encased her spirit's form in water and wrapped my arms around her. (A/N: This way she doesn't go through Neveah.)
Pulling away from the hug, I turned to my mother.
"Where's Father?" I ask. Her face turned cold.
"I don't know and I don't care. After seeing the way he treated you, I want nothing to do with him." She said, no kindness in her voice. I smiled and hugged her, wrapping her spirit's form in water.
"Darling, you're using up too much of your power. You need to let us go." My mother said as she pulled away.
"No. No, Mama I can't. I need you."
"You'll be fine. I promise." And then my mother left. Neveah stood there.
"It must be a strong magical spell. Making everyone think you're alive." I said and she nodded.
"You'll figure it out, I promise." She smiled at me.
"I do love you, Nev. You know that, right?" I said.
"I do. Which is why I'm doing this before I go." She pressed her lips against mine, still surrounded by water. I kissed her back. She faded away too.
I stopped by Mimi's house on the way back and had dinner with her.
Upon returning to Asgard, I raced to the castle but was stopped by a voice behind me.
"Lex! There you are!" Loki raced towards me.
"Sorry, Lokes, but I can't talk right now." I raced to the library and searched through the books until I passed one that was practically calling to me.
It was an old tome full of spells.
One caught my eye.
It was an illusion spell.
I flipped a couple more pages, hoping to find the counterspell, but no luck. I was about to give up when I flipped to the last page.
A blue glowing cube was drawn.
To those who seek the Tesseract beware. Once you start searching, you will not be able to cease until you obtain the mighty power within.
The tesseract. I could break the illusion spell.
I raced out of the library and crashed into Loki.
"Loki, have you ever heard of the Tesseract?" I asked breathlessly. His face changed.
"Why would you seek such an object?" His voice was cold.
"To beak a spell. Neveah is dead, someone's using an illusion to seem like she isn't." He just walked away saying,
"It's best if you leave the object alone. The Tesseract's path isn't a happy one." I heard the pain in his voice.
A/N: There's Chapter 38! So Neveah is dead. Who's on Midgard then?
Hope you enjoyed the chapter!
Love y'all! <3
