They Took That From Me Too

TW kind of SH mainly just mentions of it, also the remembrance of stuff that happened at HYDRA

I ran out of the room, out of the compound, and took off.

1st Person POV (Alexandrya)

I had no idea where I was going, I was just running. I had my illusions back on, I made that mistake before I wasn't gonna do it again. I slowed down and decided to blend in with the crowd. Keeping my head down.

I had nowhere to go, but it was okay. A monster like me didn't deserve comfort. The night was falling fast on the city, but I had nowhere to go. I had been walking for hours. Then I saw it, an airport. The ticket away from New York. The Avengers didn't need me, I was just a bother.

Getting through security was easy. I had nothing on me. My daggers were safely stowed in a bubble of water that prevented them from being detected. The only thing left to do was board. I snuck aboard the first plane I saw. The next thing I knew, it was taking off. I closed my eyes and waited.

Once we had landed, I snuck off just as I had snuck on. Security was easy again. And then I left the airport.

WELCOME TO SAN FRANCISCO!

A billboard read. I kept my head down here as well. The outfit I had on was too hot for this place though. I walked into a store, grabbed an outfit, removed the tags, and left.

I found a hidden alley and quickly changed.

I put the clothes I was wearing into a bag and exited the alley

I put the clothes I was wearing into a bag and exited the alley. I kept my head down as I walked around. I didn't want to draw any unwanted attention to myself. I wasn't looking where I was going though.

*CRASH*

I ran into someone.

"Oh my gosh, I am so so sorry miss." The stranger said to me.

"Don't worry, I should have been paying attention." I smiled at him.

"What happened? You're bleeding!" He said. I wasn't bleeding, right? He gently touched my left shoulder, right over the cuts I'd made for Bucky, my mom, and Neveah. I looked there and saw blood soaking through the shirt. One of the cuts must have reopened when I fell. THey'd never really healed anyways, they were always too deep.

"I just got this shirt too." I groaned.

"Let me bandage it for you. I feel bad." The stranger offered.

"No offense, sir, but I don't even know your name."

"OH! Scott Lang." He smiled.

"I'm Hannah." I decided not to use my real name for fear he may know who that was. He was still looking at me, waiting for me to decide if I would let him help me. What's the worst that could happen. I'm a highly trained assassin plus a literal goddess. I smiled and motioned for him to lead the way.

On the way to his house, he told me about himself. He told me about being a thief, being pardoned, and he told me all about his daughter Cassie.

Once we got to his house, he showed me inside.

"Can you roll up your sleeve so I can get a better look at the cut?" I did as he asked and he gasped.

"Shit, what happened. This cut is really deep." I looked down.

"I don't want to talk about it."

"Right, sorry." He quickly finished cleaning the cuts and bandaging them.

"I have an extra shirt since yours got blood on it if you want." I was taken back by his generosity. Why can't everyone be this nice?

"That would be greatly appreciated." I smiled at him. He walked into another room, grabbed a clean shirt, and brought it back to me. I took it and smiled. He showed me to a bathroom I could change in and left.

I carefully took my shirt off, not wanting to hurt my shoulder, and set it carefully on the sink. I was about to put the other shirt on when my gaze caught a large scar on my abdomen.

~Flashback to the memory that follows~

I had been feeling really weird lately. I had been super tired, nauseous, achy, and I've been having terrible cramps in my abdomen. It also looked like I had been gaining weight. But that wasn't possible. I was barely eating.

Today Doctor took me in for examination. He too had been noticing how off I was.

After countless different types of tests, he spoke.

"God damnit. I can't believe it." He turned to face me.

"Care to explain what the hell is going on?" I had no idea what he was talking about.

"So, whose is it?" Whose is what?

"Is it Winters? I bet it is. Won't he be so happy to have a child huh?" A child? No, I can't be pregnant. Then it clicked. The guard.

"No matter, we'll just get rid of it. Can't have mini wings running around now can we?" He smiled evilly at me.

That was the last thing I saw before he knocked me out.

~End of Flashback~

Tears fell at the remembrance. I was going to have a child. Now that will never happen. Not only did they take my child, but they made it impossible to ever have one. They took that from me too.

"Hey, would you like to stay for..." He trailed off. I looked back at him, his shirt still in my hands.

"What. Is. That." His eyes were on my brand. My own eyes widened.

"It's not what it looks like, I promise you."

"You'd better start explaining right now then."

"HYDRA took me 71 years ago. They forced me to become their soldier. I didn't want to kill anyone, but every time I disobeyed, they shocked me." I showed him the black scars on my neck.

He nodded.

"Sorry for jumping to conclusions, but you can't be too careful when it comes to those people."

"I understand." I pulled the shirt on.

"Oh, yeah, I was going to ask you if you wanted to stay for dinner."

"If you don't mind."

"Not at all. It gets lonely around here sometimes."

"So loneliness is why you decided to come in on me changing?" I teased.

"No. I thought you would be done, you were in there for like 20 minutes. I wanted to make sure you hadn't passed out or anything."

"Oh. It was a memory that came back. Sorry for worrying you." He just smiled,

"You apologize too much. Anyways I'm making tacos. Wanna help?"

"What are tacos?"

"You can't be serious. Okay, come on you're definitely helping. It's basically a crime not to know what a taco is." He joked.

We ended up making dinner together. Also, the tacos were amazing. Scott ended up offering me a place to sleep which I gladly took, even though I knew I wasn't gonna sleep much.

I wish everyone were as nice as him. I just hope that he won't hate me once he sees who I really am.
