Yuma had spent the whole day with Kakashi and Shika's team. She had loads of fun, and almost felt normal.

Almost.... If only it weren't for the faint voice in the back of her head.

Kill.... kill.... kill....

Yuma moved the voice into the back of her mind.

She went to bed that night, happy and exhausted.

"Alright.... Your next missions are baby sitting the Fire Lord's nephew, carrying groceries for his wife, and-"

"NO WAY!" Yuma and Naruto yelled, their arms forming 'X's over their heads.

"Those missions are boooooriiiiiiing!" Yuma said dramatically, falling to the floor.

"Yeah, yeah!" Naruto agreed, nodding as he sat beside her, his arms crossed. "I don't want to do these lame missions anymore, believe it!"

"You idiots!" Iruka yelled, standing. "You're mere gennin, straight from the academy! You can't go on higher ranked missions without the proper experience!!!"

"Well how do you expect us to get the right experience when all we do are these lame-o chores?!" Yuma countered. "Seriously! I bet I could handle a higher ranked mission! What's the deal with the ranks anyways?!"

The Hokage began a long lecture on the ranks, and, surprisingly enough, Yuma was the only one on her team to pay attention to it.

"Silence!" The Hokage snapped, glaring at the four who were tuned in to Naruto's ramen monologue.

"Sorry..." Kakashi said sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.

"I heard you gramps!" Yuma said, leaning forward and nodding quickly. "But seriously, simple chores aren't going to help us anyways!"

"Yeah!" Naruto nodded. "And besides, you're always lecturing! I'm not the same brat I was before, believe it!"

"Very well," the Hokage relented, sighing. "I will grant you a C rank. I need you to escort someone back to their homeland."

"Ooh! Who?! A feudal lord?! A princess?!" Naruto demanded.

"Not quite," chuckled the Hokage. "Send him in."

The door slid open, and team 7 turned to see an old man.

"What?! You mean to tell me these snot nosed brats are supposed to be my escorts?! Especially the short one with the dumb face, I'm supposed to believe he's really a ninja?! And that little girl? What's with that?!"

Yuma smiled. "I know around twenty ways to kill you without you even knowing you're dead, Mister. Ya wanna hear 'em?"

"Yuma," the Hokage sighed. "You cannot murder Tazuna-San, you are supposed to protect him."

"But I can kill any of his enemies, right?" Yuma asked, looking away from the startled drunk to send puppy eyes at the third.

"Considering this is a simple C rank, that shouldn't be needed. However, yes, Yuma, his enemies only."

"Yay!"

"You're kidding, right?" Tazuna intercepted. "She's just a little girl, what could she do?"

"Tazuna-San," said the Hokage seriously. "You shouldn't take Yuma lightly. She is much more lethal than she appears."

Tazuna regarded the girl a moment, looking unconvinced. "Bah! I'm positive she's harmless." He dismissed.

Yuma huffed. "Stupid geezer. If gramps didn't say no, you'd be dead right now."

"Sure, little brat," Tazuna sneered. Yuma's gaze darkened and she took a deliberate step forward, danger rolling from her like noxious gas and making the air thick and heavy.

"Yuma," the third said again, his tone sharp. "Go sketch." He held out a pencil and paper, which Yuma took before going to sit down and draw. The air lightened considerably as she began to kick her legs and hum.

"Tazuna-San, it is dangerous to anger Yuma," Kakashi said.

Despite his nervous feeling, Tazuna scoffed. "What could she do?"

"She's taken out an entire village," The Hokage answered. "A village that was home to a thousand master shinobi. She took them all out and was found without a single scratch on her, covered in their blood."

Tazuna gulped.

"But she's harmless as long as you're not on her bad side," Kakashi assured, mostly to his students, who were staring at disgust and horror at the humming girl. "She's told me herself she wouldn't ever hurt her team, the Hokage, or her two friends because they all mean the world to her."

This fact surprised her team. After all, they'd done nothing but stay away from her, give her as cold a shoulder they could without their fear weakening it.

"Even I would not want to engage Yuma in combat," the Hokage said, shocking them all. "For I am certain that if I were to do so, more than a few injuries would be the result."

Yuma, had zoned out and missed the entire conversation, jumped up and held up her picture. It was a surprisingly good sketch of the Hokage mountain faces. Under it, she'd written 'To grampa Saru, luv Yuma'.

"Grampa Saru! Look it!" She cheered, skipping over to his desk. "I drew you a picture!"

The Hokage smiled warmly as he took it. "Thank you, Yuma, it's lovely. I'll hang it up right on my wall."

Yuma watched with a broad smile as he taped the photo to the wall behind his desk. Then, she looked at Tazuna, who tensed. She approached, and the kids and Iruka grew cautious, yet Kakashi as the third knew she wouldn't hurt him now that she was calmer.

"Don't worry, Tazu-chan!" She cheered in a cute voice, showing him a thumbs up. "I'll kill any bad guys that come after you! I promise to keep you safe!"

Everything was silent as Tazuna stared at the young girl, who's confident grin never faltered. Meanwhile, her team saw her a bit differently.

"Alright team," Kakashi said, setting a hand on Yuma's shoulder. "Meet at the northern gates in an hour."
