"Should someone tell him he's facing the wrong way?" Yuma asked innocently, though her posture was slightly tense, waiting.
The man looked back and his gaze zeroed on her. His eyes narrowed and Yuma's widened.
"Zabu-chan..." She muttered.
"Yuma," Zabuza nodded.
The group looked from Yuma to the man, Zabuza, and back.
"Yuma, you know him?" Kakashi demanded.
A slow, sadistic, blood thirsty grin found Yuma's lips as she nodded. "Yup. Zabuza Momochi; rouge nin of the mist; one of the seven legendary swordsmen; score- 25."
"Yuma Vex," Zabuza said. "Registered as insane; mass murderer; score- 25."
"Score?" Sakura asked.
"Zabu-chan and I have faced each other many times in the past." Yuma said. "There was a reason I was in the most secure cell in the asylum. I kept escaping to fight him, to see who'd live and who'd die. We've tied 25 times. I wonder what happens this time."
"So you're out and about, eh?" Zabuza chuckled.
"Got out early for awesomeness," Yuma smirked. "Kashi, let me handle this, please."
Kakashi looked at his little cousin. Her hands were clawed and twitching. A grin lit up her face. A deathly aura surrounded her.
"I don't know Yuma," he said hesitantly. "He's dangerous."
"So am I," Yuma replied. "I've got this. I can win. This time, he'll die."
"Yuma-"
"What're you worried about?!" Yuma demanded, looking at him.
Kakashi's eyes widened. She looked suddenly so serious, and sad.
"If I die, then no one'll be sad about it. No one likes me anyways, even you hate me. Your acting doesn't fool me, Kashi. It's no biggy if I die, and you know it. Just let me fight, and if I die, you can take care of the rest. I'll have him weakened a bit and you'll definitely win! So what's the problem?!"
Kakashi gapped at her. "You really believe that no one will be sad if you die," he mumbled. "You really believe that your life has no value."
"Of course I do!" Exclaimed Yuma. "That's how it is! Lying to myself will do nothing but hurt me later on, so what's the point?! I'm a murderer, a freak, no one's ever going to miss me!" She took a breath, then gave him a steady look. "I'm going to fight him, okay? You hang back until I die."
"Yuma-"
"STOP!" Yuma roared. "Just STOP! Keep trying to lie to me and I'll...." She looked down a moment, trembling violently. "I'll..." Her fists clenched and she looked up at him, her gaze an icy glare, despite the tears springing up at the corners. "Keep trying to lie to me, and I'll kill you..."
Her tone hardened and darkened. Kakashi stared sadly at her, wanted to hold her, to console her, to make her believe him. His chest contracted painfully and he reached out a hand slightly.
However, Yuma disappeared. A pain hit him and he looked down instinctively. There she was, holding his hand, which was at an unnatural angle. Broken. He grunted in pain, pulling his arm away.
Her hair was black, her eyes red. The tears darkened, thickened, turned black rather than the usual red. She snarled, showing long, sharp canines. "Stay back or die, your choice."
Then she was gone again, and Zabuza kicked off the tree trunk with his sword. They met mid air, sword to kunai.
"Thanks for waiting," Yuma grunted as they pushed away, landing on the ground and facing each other.
"Anytime," chuckled Zabuza. "It was entertaining. Still a cold hearted monster, I see."
Yuma smirked darkly. "Always."
"Good to know."
They flew at each other again.
