Kakashi glanced regularly at Yuma as they walked down the streets of Konaha.

This girl, she's the most difficult child he's ever met. Her inability to feel guilt over the murders she's committed mad him angry, livid even. Not the fact that she had murdered, but the fact that she enjoyed what she had done. Yet.... He couldn't help but pity the girl, for she was alone, just like he had been at her age.

She had no one to talk to, no one to laugh with, no one to greet her wen she woke up or tuck her into bed. She didn't even have someone to argue with.

Well... He couldn't really say that, could he? Because now he was her guardian.

He glanced at Yuma again. She was looking curiously around at the village and its inhabitants, looking particularly innocent. A question popped into Kakashi's head as he watched her, though he knew that he'd regret it.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked cautiously.

"These families...." Sighed Yuma. "They're so happy."

"You'd probably be happy too if you hadn't killed your family." Kakashi said, somewhat coldly. Yuma looked at him, and for a fleeting moment Kakashi thought she might cry. That moment passed though, and Yuma soon put on a grin.

"I'm happier now that they're dead!" She chirped.

"How could that be possible though?" Asked Kakashi irritably. "How could you, a young girl, hate your family and village enough to kill them? I just can't understand it."

Once again Kakashi thought Yuma might cry before she returned to watching the people on the streets.

"Of course you wouldn't...." She murmured quietly, almost as though she didn't want him to hear it. "You've never been the village sacrifice...."

Kakashi stopped walking, his eyes wide in shock. Yuma continued on, though, and said something aloud that, oddly enough, made Kakashi somewhat relieved.

"So many ways to kill them all~" she said happily, out of her momentary depression.

Kakashi decided not to bring up the sacrifice comment, and instead decided that he would try to give this girl a chance. Maybe she could be changed into a gentler child, maybe even a normal 12 year old girl.

"Are you hungry?" Kakashi asked kindly, striding up beside her.

"Very much," she replied, still grinning sadistically at the people around. Kakashi looked around to see Ichiraku Ramen, which seemed to only have two other people inside, and put a hand on Yuma's shoulder.

That'll be good, he thought as he led her towards the small shop. Not many people for her to threaten.

He and Yuma entered the ramen shop, where a certain ponytailed brunette haired teacher and his blonde, whisker-faced student sat, and Kakashi helped the grey haired, rusty eyed girl onto a stool at the other end of the long bench before sitting down beside her, between her and the other two.

"What can I get you?" Asked the jolly, balding owner named Teuchi as he walked up to the duo.

The ponytailed man and his companion both looked up curiously from their bowls, looking at the silver haired jonnin and his grey haired company.

"I'll have beef," said the silver haired nin with a closed-eyed smile.

"I'll have........" The grey haired girl said, staring at the menu. Eventually, she looked at the man beside her and said, not at all quietly, "Hey Bakashi, what's good here?"

Iruka almost laughed, but restrained himself, while Naruto didn't really understand what was so funny. He wasn't even paying much attention to what was being said. He was instead focusing on the new child he had never seen before.

She was really cute, perhaps cuter than Sakura. Her voice was really soft and sweet.

"The miso ramen is the best!" He said cheerily. She looked over at him and grinned.

"Hey thanks! I'll have that Mister!" She said to Teuchi.

"Alright then!"

As he turned his back, Yuma stared at his back, and Kakashi distinctly heard her mutter, "one hit, through the ribcage, pierce the heart, game over."

He sighed.

Clack clack clack clack clack!

He looked over to see Yuma, now wielding chopsticks, jabbing the pointed end down between her fingers. He was sure she was about to hurt herself.

"Don't do that!" He chided, tearing the object from her grasp. Her calm expression disappeared as she glared at him, all innocence gone, replaced with blood lust that even Iruka noticed.

"I was playing with those..." Yuma growled as Iruka, Naruto, and Teuchi stared in shock and slight fear.

"You were about to get hurt," Kakashi said sternly.

"Give them back," Yuma demanded, trembling with rage.

"No," Kakashi said simply.

"Give them back or I'll stab them through your heart."

Iruka choked on his noddles as he saw the sadistic smile on the strange girl's face that clearly said that she was serious. Naruto was trembling. Teuchi was frozen, two ramen bowls in hand.

"The hokage said you weren't allowed," smirked Kakashi.

"You're mean!" Yuma yelled, pointing at him before pouting.

"I know," sighed Kakashi, setting the chopsticks aside. She huffed.

"E-Enjoy..." Muttered Teuchi as he sat the bowls down.

"Ittadakimasu!" Yuma yelled, beaming. "Wow! They smell so good!"

Kakashi watched her childish smile and nearly smiled himself. She looked so innocent, as if she wasn't threatening to murder him only seconds before.

He handed back her chopsticks, chuckling at her confused look.

"You can have them back if you just eat with them," he said. She pouted slightly, but soon got over it as she grabbed them and dug into the noodles.

She was finished within seconds.

"Seconds please!" She said, holding up her bowl.

"Woah! You're a fast eater, dattebayo!" The blonde boy said.

"Naruto, don't talk to that girl," chided Iruka quietly. "There's something not right about her."

"He's right you know," said Yuma, looking at them with a grim smile. "Monsters aren't safe for you, so you should stay away."

Her words stunned them all into silence, which was only broken by the stunned shop owner setting a bowl of ramen in front of the girl with a 'clack'.

"Oh! Ittadakimasu!" She chirped happily, finishing it just as quickly as the first. "Ahh, much better! That was yummy Mister noodle man!"

"Are... Are you ready to go, Yuma?" Kakashi asked, snapping out of his stupor.

"Uh-huh! Ne, Bakashi?"

"Hm?"

"Why do you wear that mask like that?" Asked Yuma as they left the shop.

"Oh, well, I guess the best way to answer that is because I liked the idea of it," Kakashi said, rubbing the back of his head.

"Oh, okay!" Yuma said, looking around at the emptying streets.
