"Wha?!" Kakashi said, shocked, as lethally spiked chains wrapped around him, tightening, tightening, tightening until, "AH!" He was torn to bits.
"Sensei!" His student cried as his remains fell to the ground.
"One down," one of the assailants rasped.
"Four to go," his partner finished.
They rushed.
Sasuke stopped their advance on his blonde teammate, using a shuriken and kunai to trap their chain against a tree. He grasped their hands before kicking both their heads.
Yuma, who had been staring incomprehensibly at her sensei's remains until this point, growled as the two assassins separated. One going for the bridge builder and the other for Naruto.
Sakura pushed Tazuna behind her as she watched the ninja rush her, but a black blur stopped it. She watched, stunned, as Yuma, her eyes a demonic red and hair now black, held the wrist of the nin, who seemed unable to believe what had just happened.
"Now you die," the young girl snarled. In one swift movement, she had the assailant on the ground, and in another, she had stabbed her kunai through his throat, blood flying up and sticking to her face as she tore it out again. The nin was motionless, dead as his blood pooled from the neck wound and surrounded his head, staining the dirt the color of Yuma's eyes.
Those eyes, which moved as she stood, and locked gazes with the pink haired genin. Sakura stared, knowing she was trembling from the dangerous aura of blood lust pooling from her teammate. Those eyes... Eyes of a cold hearted murderer, yet as they met her green ones, softened and gave her assurance that she was safe.
Those eyes showed Yuma would protect her team with all her worth.
In a flash, the lethal girl had gone, and appeared in front of Naruto, a kunai ready. She ran at the mist nin with speed unmatched and had him on the ground in a millisecond, kunai raised.
Yet, a large hand stopped the weapon's descent as another pulled her off her prey. A strong arm wrapped around her and a hand took the kunai and held it to the throat of the assassin.
"Twitch and you'll die like your comrade," Kakashi said darkly, holding his cousin as she squirmed.
"Kashi! Let me go! They- wait, Kashi?! You're alive?!" Yuma exclaimed as she stopped struggling and stared at her sensei in shock.
"I'm fine, Yuma," Kakashi assured, keeping his eye on the enemy. "Calm down. Relax."
Her team and Tazuna watched, awestruck, as crimson tears bubbled in her eyes, which faded back to their regular rust color and her hair returned to being soft grey. A tear slid down her cheek, and her team watched in shock. They'd never before seen her cry, they didn't think she could, and much less thought she would cry blood.
The dark red tears mixed with spotted blood and glided down her face. A relieved smile spread across her cheeks. "Good," she croaked. "You're okay."
Kakashi glanced down at his little cousin and saw her strange tears, the pure relief shining in her eyes, and his gaze softened. "Are you alright?"
Yuma only nodded.
She was okay because he was alive. He and her team were still living, so now matter if she were injured or not, she couldn't have been more okay.
And the voice in her head had calmed slightly since the kill, an added bonus.
