The only thing missing was the generic western music that played for gunslingers. You know the music, right?
Well, that would have been appreciated as Yuma and her opponent, Jugu Hatsugo, stood mere feet from one another.
Blood still covered Yuma's face, tough it was beginning to dry, and crack. Jugu stood with his giant hammer in his grasp, a murderous expression on his face.
"Let the match between Yuma Vex and Jugu Hatsugo... begin!"
Immediately, all of Yuma's friends began to cheer her on, shouting obnoxiously as she had done for them.
Jugu, obviously wanting to end the fight as quickly as possible, and probably hoping she was substantially weaker from before, sent his hammer at her again.
The ground splintered under the force, and dirt formed a blinding cloud around them, causing spectators to squint and lean forward.
A large body flew from the smoke, and Jugu crashed into one of the trees in the arena, taking it down, as well as the two behind it before slowing.
An eery giggle followed the shock of the audience as the monstrous man rose to his hands and knees, coughing up blood on the ground before wiping his mouth, and swaying to his feet.
"You bitch," he croaked, spotting his hammer at the young girl's feet as the smoke cleared.
Yuma was grinning, rocking on the heels of her feet in an oddly innocent fashion, hands clasped behind her back.
"Wow! Gee mister! You're weaker than I thought you'd be!" She chirped, clearly mocking the muscle-massed man across the arena.
His face grew red, and he bounded forward, surprisingly fast for someone of his stature. His fist sailed toward her face, and her teeth bared in a grin as she ducked, leaping at his face a moment later.
"Hey there!" She giggled before her small fist crashed into his nose, shattering it as he flew back once again. He hit the ground, and she giggled again, sticking out her tongue at the man.
Humiliation left a vile taste in his mouth as he stumbled again to his feet, only to collapse on his knees as his mind spun. How could this child, this scum, beat him? The great Jugu Hatsugo?! This match was making him a laughing stock; if he didn't win, and fast, there would be absolutely no chance at redemption!
He spat a curse, along with some blood, to the dirty ground.
"You freakish brat," he ground out. Everything hurt, everything. Black was beginning to invade his vision, white stars dancing along as well. And she was walking closer, that chilling smile still on her lips.
His instincts told him to run, but his brain told his to stand up and beat this sorry bitch within an inch of her life. His muscles strained as he tried the rise to his feet again.
"Damn it!" He hissed, gathering dirt in his palms as he clenched his fists, glaring stubbornly at the child now only a feet away. She paused, leaning forward and speaking in a soft tone.
"I told you, you can't beat me, weakling," she chimed, and he grit his teeth, hissing so lowly that only she would hear.
"You and this village will burn to the ground, bitch."
Her eyes widened, and he took the chance, flinging the dirt into her eyes.
She hissed a curse, scrambling back and rubbing at her assaulted eyes.
"Coward!" She spat, now blinded, mere seconds before his fist landed a heavy blow to her gut, sending her into the air. When she fell, he continued to strike her as her friends cried out in dismay, but she didn't have time to react as she was pummelled into the ground.
Just as well, her opponent didn't stop until her blood dropped from his knuckles, and he found his breathing laboured. He spat on her unmoving body, chuckling coldly as he took in shallow breaths of air.
"Serves you right, scum," he huffed, kicking her a few feet away.
"That's enough," Genma snapped. "It's bad enough that you won with such a cowardly move, don't disgrace yourself any further!"
Rage swelling in his broad chest once more, the brutish shinobi turned to the proctor, ready to put the rat in his place, only to freeze as a lilting voice broke through the silent air.
"You dare threaten my home?"
"Impossible," he breathed, hesitating to turn around. Yet, he forced himself to do so, unable to keep from trembling.
She rose from the rubble slowly, reminding him of a ghost. Blood covered her, leaving little skin visible. Her eyes were dark, almost not visible from the shadow her hair cast. He couldn't see the rage in her eyes until she lifted her head.
And then, he wished that he hadn't seen the terrifying expression on her crimson stained face.
Her busted lips slowly spread into a murderous smile, and she took a few steps forward.
"Now, I'm done playing-"
Step. Step.
"I'll make an example of you-"
Step. Step.
"And I'll show everyone what happens-"
Step. Step.
"When you threaten my home, and everyone in it."
Now, she was right in front of him, but he couldn't move. He was trapped in her murderous gaze. Any words he could have spoken died on his tongue, his worst nightmares came to life at just the look in her rust colored eyes.
Before he knew it he had fallen to the ground, screaming in terror, only to be cut off by a choked gurgle. Her hand, fingers straight, had pierced his neck, and she had taken hold on his spine.
With a simple flick of her wrist, his spine snapped, his head fell toward, and he crumbled to the ground with a pool of crimson spreading outwards from his body.
Jugu Hatsugo was dead.
