CHAPTER - 15

There was an unusual silence all around the table between the members who were still processing what they had been informed. Jihyun grew nervous because of this, but Taeyong didn't mind them and continued to eat his lunch.

It took solid 2 mins before everyone at the table screamed in either excitement or to tease the leader of the group. The sudden change in the atmosphere made Jihyun flinch, and Taeyong chuckled at her reaction, finding it cute. After a few minutes, Taeyong spoke up silencing the group from their mini celebration.

"Okay guys as of now the marriage will take place in a couple of months but it seems like you guys are more excited about this news than me?" Taeyong chuckled along with Jihyun, as the whole of NCT were celebrating like there is no tomorrow.

Soon after lunch, the members of NCT went to their company as they had a schedule. Jihyun went to her room and was checking her documents. She suddenly remembered Yoon-oh and the meeting they were supposed to have today. So, she rushed to her wardrobe to find casual clothes and called Yeseo to get her a car.

At 4:30 Jihyun finished getting ready and left the mansion while driving her new White Kia K5. She reached Twilight café around 5. She went in and ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte, waiting for Jaehyun at a corner table trying not to gain much attention.

After 5 minutes her order arrived. She was sipping her coffee while scrolling through the daily feed and saw the news of her marriage with Taeyong was already released. She read through the comments and saw almost all the comments were in favor of their relationship, which honestly surprised her.

"Did you wait for long?" Jaehyun asked taking the seat opposite to her. "Nope. I arrived just a while ago and also kept myself busy so no issues." Jihyun replied.

"Oh Okay, Congratulations, by the way, I heard the news from Taeyong Hyung. I'm sure he'll be a good partner for you." Jaehyun said with a small smile. Jihyun stared at him for a while before asking, "What did you want to talk about Yoon-oh? From the way you, now I can very well tell you're not in a good position right now."

Yoon-oh was taken aback by her question and sighed trying to come up with a lie, just as he was about to speak... "Don't even think about lying to me Jung Yoon-oh" Jihyun stated in a stern tone, which Jaehyun knew she used only when things get serious.

"I'll tell you a part of it now... hopefully I can finish it all the next time we talk." Jaehyun started explaining how his parents were controlling over him and how they scolded him for asking about Yunmi to them and never let him do anything he wished to do from a very young age.

After what seemed like half an hour of explaining the past story to Jihyun, he sighed and concluded, "Now only you can help me get rid of all the barriers Jihyun. You are the only one who can free me from our parents so that I can live a life of my own, not one being a puppet." Jaehyun sighed again getting up from his seat.

"I'll get going, Mom would want me to stay at their house until you settle in with Taeyong. They think of you as a threat to my position Jihyun-ah and I've tried everything I can to change their mind, but they just won't listen." Jaehyun said and was about to leave the café, but Jihyun held his hand.

He looked back at her confused. "Leave their house, pack up and get things ready. I'll have Taeyong's secretary pick you up tomorrow evening at 6" Jihyun said blankly staring at him, which made him more confused.

"Cook up an excuse to where you are going and live in my apartment. I have one near JH's residence. Jonghyun Oppa used it as an outhouse but he also passed away in the same place. Stay there for a week and I'll get you the apartment right opposite to that so you can live there." Jaehyun just stared at her wide-eyed while she spoke.

"After shifting your things to the new house, tell your parents that you bought an apartment of your own," Jihyun stated, letting go of his hand.

"Jihyun, you don't have to-" Jaehyun started only to be cut off with a surprising statement from her.

"Yunmi... You can call me Yunmi" Jihyun stated getting up from her chair and collecting her belongings.

She walked out and headed towards her car. Jaehyun followed her behind with a wide smile, as he knew his sister was no longer upset with him.

"Do you need a ride? I'm going back to the mansion. Pack your things that are there too." Jihyun said as they reached the car.

Jaehyun nodded and got into the passenger seat and Jihyun started to drive back home.

Upon reaching the Mansion, Jihyun parked the car in the basement next to a red Lamborghini and got out. Jaehyun followed her suit and got into the house only to find 22 members and Yeseo sitting in the living room glancing at the main door once in a while.

"What are you guys doing?" Jihyun broke the silence in the air. All heads snapped towards her only to find her near the garage entrance.

"Noona you got a car?" Haechan asked springing out of his seat. "Yup" Jihyun replied making her way towards them and Jaehyun left the living room as he went to pack his things from upstairs.

"How did things go?" Taeyong asked Jihyun nervously as Jaehyun went upstairs.

"Well good enough for starters, but anyone can tell that there is a long way to go." Jihyun simply replied shrugging her shoulders. The members relaxed and got into a conversation of their own.

After a few minutes, Jaehyun came back with his Luggage packed. Everyone's attention turned to him. "Hyung where are you going," Lucas asked.

"Just somewhere for a few days," Jaehyun replied and turned to Jihyun. "What to do now?" he asked her.

Jihyun turned her attention from her iPad to Yoon-oh and said, "Get out?" staring blankly at him. They both looked at each other and the members shifting uncomfortably between the two. Taeyong held Jihyun's hand from beside her. He was about to talk but Jihyun beat him, "Yeseo, get going with him... you prepared what I had asked you to, right?" Yeseo nodded at her boss.

"Did the driver arrive? And did you tell Hwan regarding what he has to do tomorrow?" Jihyun asked Yeseo again. She replied with a 'yup' and get off along with Jaehyun towards the front gate to where the Driver was.

"He's leaving the house and will be staying in an outhouse apartment. Don't worry I won't let my own twin live in the streets." Jihyun said as soon as she turned, feeling 22 pairs of eyes trailing on her.

They sighed in relief knowing that Jihyun hadn't taken any extreme measures against their fellow member.

"Alright what do you guys want for dinner? I'm ordering takeout" Jihyun said diverting their attention and it worked.

"Chicken" two people shouted all of a sudden upon looking up she realized it was Ten and her secretary Yeseo. Jihyun chuckled and ordered Chicken, tteokbokki, and some dumplings. They also made ramen at home because a few of them were craving it.

After a chaotic dinner, they all left to their rooms, calling it a night.
