CHAPTER - 01

Inhaling the fresh February air of Korea, Jihyun stepped out of the airport in all black covered with a brown overcoat and a handbag, closely behind remained her personal secretary, Ji Yeseo, also her most trusted friend ever since her stay in the US.

"It's so good to be back," said Jihyun in a monotone but no one could hear the sadness it held within.

"Yeah... It's been so long since I came to Korea despite being my homeland!!!" Yeseo replied getting excited. "I wonder how much this place changed from what I've seen years ago... I hope it's gonna be fun staying here from now on". She continued oblivious of her boss who is in deep thought.

"Me too Yeseo... Me too" Jihyun replied unenthusiastically, hoping something changed ever since she had left. But deep inside she always knew nothing could ever be changed in her life. And she had no idea who to blame either.

"Yeseo is the car ready?" she asked as they both walked out of the airport.

"Yes ma'am. But where to?" Yeseo asked having no idea what the young CEO had in mind. Usually, Jihyun asked her to book a hotel when they had been attending business trips but this time it was different. She had planned to shift her whole headquarters to Korea from the US.

While Yeseo was wondering n where her boss was going to stay. Jihyun huffed a sigh and said "The JH residence." She replied. Yeseo widened her eyes in excitement knowing the place which was in the heart of Seoul. But she never knew Jihyun was still the owner of the residence.

"OMG OMG OMG... Please tell me I'm going to stay there with you till I get married, and get myself a husband before moving into his place!!" Yeseo asked happily which was a 'little too dramatic' as stated by Jihyun.

"Of course, you are... did you think about abandoning me in that big mansion all alone?" Jihyun gasps dramatically matching the energy of her so-called bestie. While thinking about it Jihyun suddenly remembered her best friend from 10 years ago. While the young CEO was recalling her 14-year-old self... a silver, expensive sedan stopped in front of the two young ladies.

As if on cue, the now-former CEO of the Korean branch of JH records and labels stepped out "Welcome back little JH" a man of about 30 said pulling Jihyun into a hug.

"How have you been Changmin Oppa?" Jihyun asked him while being crushed into his hug as she could feel his muscles. "Too tight" she breathed and immediately felt him loosen the hug.

"Sorry... I just missed you so much that I came to pick you guys up with the driver. Hope you don't mind" he said with a smile making its way up the corner of his lips.

"We're glad we could meet you right in the airport Mr. Shim" replied Yeseo dragging her and Jihyun's luggage to the back of the car.

"Then come on let's get going," Changmin asked with a slight smile. "Where to?" he asked.

"JH residence" Jihyun replied nonchalantly, as she made her way to the backseat. While Changmin tensed up a little bit but covered it up with his charming façade.

"Why don't we go to the company first and check outthe documentation of transfer first?" Changmin asked trying to distract her. Hoping she would agree but knowing the topic would never get left out by her... he had prepared himself.

"Nope... Yeseo and I are totally drained out due to the jet lag. I'd prefer to go home to rest and begin the paperwork tomorrow. It'll be more efficient" she replied closing her eyes and resting her head in the seat.

Changmin gave up on fighting her because he knew she was right. But he also dreaded how she would take upon the new information that would be thrown on her in a few minutes from now on.
