CHAPTER - 10

Yeseo POV

We arrived in Korea today. But had absolutely no idea what would happen when Jihyun reached here.

The day took a toll on us, especially Jihyun. I'm sure she was extremely exhausted with so many things going on in her life. I pity the poor soul. Even though I'm a year younger than Jihyun, anyone who knows her has the urge to protect her and keep her safe.

After the argument with Jaehyun and his mother, Taeyong thankfully took Jihyun out of the mansion. Once they were out, the guy who opened the door spoke up, "Jaehyun go drop your mother and come back."

"No Kun Hyung, I'll stay there today and come back in the morning. It'll be better if I give Jihyun some space that she needs now." Jaehyun replied and walked out, with Mrs. Jung following him too embarrassed to talk after what Jihyun had spilled.

Once they walk out, I turn to the huge number of guys who were awkwardly scattered around the living room and tried to start a conversation. "So... you guys are NCT right?" I asked.

"Yup!" said one of the boys who I recognized to be Haechan. He's apparently the most mischievous one in NCT according to the reports.

"Oh well, I'm Ji Yeseo, Ms. Kim's personal assistant and secretary." I introduced because I'm sure we're going to be staying here with the boys for a while now.

"Nice to meet you. I'm guessing you already know about us...?" A tall guy trailed off. I think his name is Johnny if I'm not wrong.

"Yup, most of y'all as I don't exactly recall all the names that were in the folder."

"Oh! So, you're not a fan?" asked Kun. "Nope, I just read your profiles due to the collaboration that will take place with SM," I replied awkwardly. 'Why is this guy even asking that question?'. I thought.

"Oh... When I opened the door, I really freaked out thinking you were a sasaeng fan of us." Kun replied with a smirk on his face. Gosh, I already hate this guy even though I barely known him for an hour.

"Well as you can see, I have no interest in simping over guys like YOU so definitely not a sasaeng fan." I replied emphasizing 'you' smugly as I watch the smirk fall off his face.

The guy just groaned and left the hall going somewhere. Soon after he left, Ten approached and said "Damn I already like your attitude."

"Well thanks for the compliment" I replied shrugging. Well, you can say that was the beginning of our friendship.

Me and ten had a lot in common, we spoke to each other comfortably as if we were best friends from childhood. Oh well, I can only say he's either my soulmate or long-lost twin.

We spoke to each other for hours before heading off to the dining table for dinner. As we were preparing the table along with Jeno, the main door opened revealing Taeyong with a sleeping Jihyun in his arms. Everyone was teasing them as I remembered the way Taeyong glanced at Jihyun with pure admiration in the conference last time. Does he like her? I thought to myself before shrugging and getting back to work.

After dinner, I went to my room and got ready for bed as I need to wake up early and get the materials for the meeting ready tomorrow. With all the things in mind, I drifted off to my dreamland.

Next Morning

I woke up due to the alarm. It was still 6 a.m., so I went to the bathroom to take a shower and did my morning routine. I finally finished getting ready by 7, I went to Jihyun's room to see her awake and talking to someone on the phone.

She pointed towards the documents placed on her desk, I quickly nodded and took those documents, and left her alone in the room for privacy.

I was walking down the stairs while reading the papers, but someone bumped into me making all the documents fly in papers. I groaned and looked up only to find Kun looking at the scattered papers amusingly.

"Where were you looking at while walking?" I shouted at him losing my patience. Gosh why did this guy have to ruin my morning; I have a feeling that I'll be grumpy the whole day today.

"Well, if you had eyes in the front while walking you would have seen me coming and left space to walk." We started arguing putting the blame on each other. Hearing the loud argument taking place Taeyong came out of his room all messy, I guess he just woke up.

"What's happening here?" Taeyong asked rubbing his eyes and hair disheveled.

"It's him/her," I and Kun said pointing at each other simultaneously. Taeyong looked between us all confused. We started the second round of argument because he was being really rude.

"Why on earth are you both shouting early in the morning?" another voice boomed through the halls. I looked in the direction of the voice and found a fully dressed Jihyun standing with her arms crossed over her chest.

'I'm doomed' I thought looking at her all furious as I know how frustrating it is when you have a loud morning.

"Yeseo I asked you to prepare the documents so I can read through them date-wise, not throw it all across the staircase." She said pointing at the mess Kun had created a while ago. I visibly gulped and opened my mouth, "I-" only to get cut off.

"Kun, what were you doing here? Did u make her drop all the papers?" Taeyong asked eyeing Kun who hadn't been meeting Jihyun's gaze. At least he's guilty.

"I bumped into her, making the papers fall." He said truthfully. Now you're making me feel bad because I was also at fault.

"I was checking the papers while climbing down so I didn't notice him coming my way," I answered truthfully, because I know it's better to get punished in duo than alone.

"Clean up the papers and arrange it in order. Right now." Jihyun said. I sighed knowing it would take about half an hour to do alone.

"Both of you" Taeyong added. Kun nodded not wanting to argue. 'Oh well what a great way to start a day.', I thought and started picking up all the papers.
