CHAPTER - 07

~' I've been lying awake, And a ghost in my brain won't let me shake it. I keep run, running into your girlfriends, And they knew me back, back. Back to the night we met in the city, I should've just got drunk and stayed home. But now I got a piece of you with me wherever I go, I'm still alone. '~

I opened the door of my apartment only to be stuck in my place, when I came face to face with the one person, I had yearned to see...

Jihyun - "Mommy?"

Mrs. Kim - "Kim Jihyun! Do you know what time it is? It is half past 1 and you are getting back home now?"

I was rooted to my place before snapping out of it and hugging my mom so tight, taking in her fresh lavender scent. She held onto me tightly spreading her warmth before pulling out and making me sit on the couch.

Mrs. Kim - "Why are you so late?"

Jihyun - "I was planning on a new event... and it got late to sort out all the issues..."

Mrs. Kim - "Are you sure it's only today or are you coming home late every day?"

Jihyun - "Mom! Forget about me, how did you come here? Who picked you up from the airport? When did you come? Why didn't you inform me about coming back to Korea?"

Mrs. Kim - "Ok Ok stop the speed quiz... I came here around late afternoon. Taeyong picked me up from the airport. And I didn't inform you thinking I'll surprise you but I got surprised instead."

Jihyun - "What are you talking about mom?"

Mrs. Kim - "What is going on between you and Taeyong?"

Jihyun - "Nothing mom..."

Mrs. Kim - "Exactly Jihyun... why is nothing going on between you and your fiancé, when there is very less time till the marriage."

Jihyun - "Oh yeah about the marriage, it will most probably get postponed for a few weeks."

Mrs. Kim - "No one is postponing anything. I spoke with SM, they told me you both had planned the wedding to be held exactly 3 weeks later and it will happen 3 weeks later only. Don't you dare argue with me, young lady?"

I sighed, knowing there is no way to convince her, but what about Taeyong? I was about to ask her that but she beat me to it.

Mrs. Kim - "We'll visit Taeyong and his family tomorrow and start with the wedding preparations. Now I'm going to get your dinner, you better finish it and sleep. Okay?"

I simply nodded and finished the fried rice my mom had made for me. OMG, it tastes amazing. Mom's food is always the best. After dinner, I changed into my sleepwear and sat on the balcony thinking about everything.

While I was in my thoughts, my phone rang pulling me out of my trance.

Phone Call-

Jihyun: Hello?

Taeyong: Jihyun... How have you been?

Jihyun: Hmm good, how about you?

Taeyong: Good, your mom called me actually... to pick her up from the airport.

Jihyun: Yeah, she told

Taeyong: You spoke to the management yesterday, didn't you?

Jihyun: Yes, I did... I couldn't keep watching you guys burn yourselves out.

Taeyong: Jihyun you didn't have to-

Jihyun: I had to do something Taeyong. I can't keep distancing myself from my brother, fiancé, and friends just because they have a hard time. I needed to do something to sort it out and help you guys.

Taeyong: Ji... I'm sorry

Jihyun: It's fine Taeyong. In a week you guys will be free from your schedules.

Taeyong: Thanks a lot Jihyun.

Jihyun: Oh, and before I forget, mom and I will be coming to your house tomorrow to meet your family and decide on what to do with the wedding. Can you bring Jaehyun too?

Taeyong: Your mom told me about it when I picked her up. And I don't think Jae can make it though.

Jihyun: Why?

Taeyong: He's going to meet Mr. Cho's daughter tomorrow afternoon. She had called up and asked for a meet-up today.

Jihyun: Ok that's nice.

Taeyong: It's almost 3 in the morning Jihyun, we should sleep.

Jihyun: Yeah, bye Tae... we'll meet tomorrow.

Taeyong: Yeah, Goodnight.

With that, the call ended and the couple slept peacefully, awaiting the next day.
