The couple glanced at each other and got out of the car. They were sent on a beach date by Jaehyun, who claimed to be making up for the event he caused last night. The couple did not try to deny his attempts but were suddenly awkward around each other.
None of them spoke up during the whole ride which was offered by a company driver hired by Jaehyun himself. He even arranged a stay for them in the nearby resort so they could spend the whole night there and get back the next morning.
"Let's the room first and leave the belongings there," Taeyong suggested. Jihyun only nodded and walked along with him to the resort.
Upon reaching the reception, they were greeted by a girl wearing a white blouse and shorts, she looked at Taeyong with a flirty smile and completely ignored the girl beside him completely.
"Reservation under Lee..." he spoke bringing her out of her trance as she was staring at him for a considerable duration.
"Yes sir, a one-night stay Luxe room." She replied looking at the screen at the laptop but occasionally stole glances at him. "Room 201 sir... would you like me to guide you?" she asked in a flirty tone.
Jihyun who figured it and quickly cut off the receptionist's dreams by snatching the room keys out of her grasp and fake smiled at her before replying, "No thank you, we can find our way."
Jihyun held onto Taeyong's hand and went towards the lobby elevator quickly moving out of the girl's sight. Jihyun could tell that Taeyong was feeling uncomfortable with the other girl's poor attempts of flirting with him yet kept quiet, so she had to do something. Taeyong was amused with the way Jihyun reacted and took him away from the desperate girl who wouldn't hesitate to grab any opportunity with him.
Upon reaching the room, Jihyun realized she was still holding onto Taeyong's hand, so she instantly let go. This made Taeyong feel a little emptiness in his heart but he didn't let it show by clearing his throat.
They settled their things, took a quick break, and left the room, towards the beach. Jihyun and Taeyong walked along the shore without speaking a word only occasionally brushing their hands against each other and pulling away.
Taeyong was frustrated with the awkwardness and decided to hold Jihyun's hand and stopped his tracks. Jihyun was surprised with the abrupt stop but did not question it and turned to him having a curious expression.
"Till when are we going to keep up with this awkwardness?" he asked her. Jihyun looked at him with a straight face and replied, "Until one of us give up and break it?" It was meant to come out as a witty statement but Taeyong felt his heart sink for some reason.
"Do you want to break off the engagement?" he questioned her expecting her to say otherwise but, was surprised when Jihyun came closer to him and put her head on his broad shoulder wrapping her free hand around his torso caressing his back. This silence was not awkward but not comforting either because Taeyong hadn't got a verbal answer to his question yet.
"I can't let you go even if I wanted to Lee Taeyong. I've grown to love you now, even though it's only been a week and I can't turn away from you, no matter what. I'm really sorry for how I spoke to you yesterday. I just couldn't get over the fact that I missed so many years of growing up with my twin. I only realized yesterday, when I met Jaehyun's friends, that Jaehyun isn't the same Yoon-oh I had left behind years ago." Jihyun explained. Taeyong felt guilty for being selfish and insensitive and not thinking about how Jihyun felt yesterday.
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry for not considering how you felt. I can never forgive myself for being so selfish like yesterday." Taeyong said tightly hugging her and resting his forehead on hers.
"I know this is only a moment passing by and I really hope this won't happen again. Let's sort this out quickly so it doesn't affect our relationship Taeyong..." Jihyun said getting teary at the thought of not having Taeyong by her side.
"This is definitely not affecting our relationship Jihyun, if anything it will only make us stronger. And about Jaehyun he can definitely live with us even after our wedding but we must make sure to get our personal space too..." Taeyong spoke caressing her cheek. Jihyun looked at him for a moment and burst out laughing.
"Did you really think he'd live with us under the same roof?" she questioned him.
Taeyong gave her a blank face and replied, "Well yeah? That's what we were talking about yesterday right?". She only laughed more shaking her head.
"What I meant was live together as neighbors... I bought the apartment opposite to the one Jaehyun is currently living in so we can shift there and I will also get to be closer to Jae..." she explained, Taeyong wanted to ask her something but was quickly cut off. "Jaehyun was drunk last night Yong and I said that only because he wouldn't make a fuss and listen to me. And when he was sober enough, he understood what I meant by ' living together ' as we've discussed about this before." Jihyun said.
"But why do I feel like there was more to Jaehyun's words about last night?" Jihyun asked herself and Taeyong rethinking about the previous night's events.
"Well let's not think about that now..." Taeyong said trying to change the topic and avoid arguments like the previous night.
Leaning to her earlobe, he whispered, "But should we continue what you left off in the car yesterday?". Upon hearing the statement, Jihyun's face turned red and she pulled out from his embrace, walking backward, and said, "We'll see but you gotta catch me first,". She started running along the shore of the beach with Taeyong trailing close behind to catch her. It was a peaceful evening with the couple's hearts beating together in a more peaceful way... All they can hope for was a better future with each other.
No matter how much of a difficulty they have in the future... they can still be together and help each other. But not all stories have a peaceful and happy ending, can they?

Note from the Author,
"The title of the story, 'Promenade' suggests the crossing of paths of the two individuals who try to seek each other... They seem to attract and walk by each other's side through thorny forests and stormy seas without giving up on each other.
This part of the fanfiction of Lee Taeyong is purely based on the fluff moments of how Taeyong and Jihyun find each other almost like soulmates, but will they remain the same even after many mistakes they make and numerous misunderstandings created?
Or will their newfound happiness go down the drain when years pass by, and the love they have for each other lessen with the passing of time?
Let's find out in the next chapter of Jihyun and Taeyong's life in the next part of the book."
