Edmund was more terrified, than anything as he found himself waking up, taking slow, shallow breaths as he lay there.

He kept his eyes closed though, frowning just slightly, after all the last thing he had expected was for him to wake up.

Maybe he was in Aslans country?

That sounded possible, after all he was almost certain he had died.

He lay there, eyes closed as he thought, going back over everything that had happened.

He'd been rescued and taken away from that place, and after that he didn't remember too much except pain, he remembered the pain, remembered being in so much of it that he had just wanted to die. He remembered that man had turned up, and had stabbed him in the leg, and that he was going to take him away, but Peter had stopped him, but not before he was stabbed, stabbed I'm the stomach by a dagger he had, and it was this reason why Edmund was confused... shouldn't he be dead?

Shouldn't he be in so much more pain?

That was the weird thing, he felt no more pain, more just like a dull ache, like he got after hours of swordfighting practice, but instead encompassing his whole body, he felt achy all over, and swallowed hard to force back tears.

He suddenly heard movement which cut through his thoughts, and his heart rate picked up a notch.

He lay there for a moment, before slowly allowing his eyes to flicker open.

"Edmund?"

Edmund swear he nearly had a heartattack at the sound of the voice, and through his blurred vision he could make out someone's face, the face of someone who was sat beside him.

Fear kicked in, and the next thing he knew he was on the floor, the hammock he'd apparently been laying in rendered useless as it tipped him out.

He landed with a groan and a sob, before hearing multiple sets of footsteps.

Susan, Lucy and Orious all made a dash for Edmund when he fell, landing with a painful thud and letting out such a heartbreaking sob that Lucys eyes filled with tears.

Susan went to grab Edmunds shoulders, but he full on went for her, causing her to duck to avoid his weak punch, before he backed away against the canvas wall of the tent, eyes squeezed shut and shaking like a leaf.

Susan shuffled back a bit, keeping her distance from her clearly petrified brother, and took a deep breath. "E - Ed?" She murmered, keeping her voice as gentle as she possibly could.

But Edmund flinched harshly, shaking his head and pulling his knees up to his chest, curling himself into a ball as he tried to hide.

Susan sighed, glancing worriedly at Lucy for a moment before reaching forward to place a hand on her younger brothers knee, but he was having non of it.

He jerked away, trying to push himself closer to the canvas wall of the tent, so much so that Susan feared it might rip and send him straight through outside.

"Ed no one's going to hurt you." Lucy stepped in, her voice so soft Susan barely heard it. "You're safe here."

But still Edmund didn't listen to them, and he was still shaking so badly Susan was starting to get really worried. "P - Pete." He choked out. "Peter."

Susan sighed. "Ed, you're okay." She breathed. "Peter - Well he'll live okay?"

But Edmund wasn't listening. "Peter." He choked. "Pete." And he kept repeating that name over and over again, practically sobbing within a few seconds.

Susan didn't know what to do, and was startled when suddenly a very sick looking Peter knelt between her and Lucy.

"What an earth do you think you're doing?" Susan snapped in a whisper, not even knowing that he had enough strength to get out of bed.

Peter shook his head weakly, skin so pale that Lucy was sure he would collapse again. "Ed?" He choked out, the room spinning around him.

Edmund kept repeating his brothers name over and over again, shaking his head and his eyes squeezed shut.

Peter sighed, and with Lucys steadying hand on his shoulder, he shuffled forward and took a hold of Edmunds hands, which were all but covering his face.

Edmund froze.

He didn't pull away, didn't panic, and didn't cry out.

He completely and utterly froze.

"Ed its me." Peter whispered, Susan shuffling forward to help support him or she feared he'd end up laying on the floor. "It's Peter, I promise Ed. You reckon you can open your eyes for me?"

It took a while of coaxing, but eventually Edmund removed his hands from his face and opened his eyes, granted it was only half way, but it was a start.

Peter gave him a weak smile. "Hey." He murmered.

Edmund blinked at him, before moving his gaze from Susan to Lucy.

"They won't hurt you either." Peter reassured him. "They're your sisters, I swear Edmund you are safe, no one is going to hurt you, no more pain I promise."

It had been rather a shock to Peter when he woke up from passing out, to find Susan and Lucy there with a few healers, Edmund fully healed and laying in a hammock. He had wanted so badly to go over to him, but could hardly move his arm at that point, let alone make it out of his hammock and across the tent to Edmunds.

But despite him still being just as sick, when he'd heard that Edmund was awake and practically begging for him to be there, well that alone gave him the strength to move.

Edmund was still just staring at him, eyes wide and cheeks tear stained, all in all he looked petrified.

"Come here." Peter whispered, holding out his arms.

It took a while, and Peter was starting to get worried when all Edmund did was sit there and stare at him, but eventually Edmunds face fell, he burst into tears, and flung himself into his older brothers arms.
