"Any sign of him?" Peter asked, walking up to Orious.

"I'm afraid not your majesty." The centaur replied slowly and sadly.

Peter sighed. "It's nearly 5pm!" He exclaimed. "We've been searching all day and we still haven't found him!"

"Sir, if I may say." Orious said. "We have only searched half of Narnia, there's still the other half."

"Yeah I know." Peter sighed, running a hand over his face. "I just want him back."

"As does the rest of the kingdom." Orious said gently. "And we will find him."

Peter nodded. "Yeah, we will." He said. "Because I wont give up until he's home and safe."

"Of course you won't." Orious said with a small smile. "Although, I hate to say, we should probably be heading back to Cair your majesty, it's getting late."

Peter swallowed hard. "I know." He mumbled. "Maybe, tomorrow we could pack enough food and stuff to spend a few days searching?" He suggested. "And like camp and stuff?"

Orious nodded. "I will sort everything when we get back your majesty." He said.

"Thank you Orious." Peter replied. "And I suppose we should go home then."

It was almost 9pm by the time they got back, and Peter, after thanking Orious and the search party, headed straight up to his room.

Opening the door he stepped inside, removing his crown and cloak before collapsing on his bed, running a hand through his hair.

He couldn't believe he still hadn't found Edmund, he'd been searching for days and he still hadn't found him, and it was beginning to really affect him.

He could hardly sleep, could hardly eat, and could hardly even sit still. He just wanted to be out all the time searching, but if he was honest with himself, he knew that wouldn't be a very good idea.

If he searched continuously, then he would fall ill, and when he found Edmund, well it wouldn't be good for either of them.

If I find him.

"Shut up." Peter groaned, laying down and running a hand over his face, blinking back tears. "You'll find him. You have to."

"Or course you'll find him."

Peter sat bolt upright, sighing slowly when he saw Lucy stood in the doorway, dressed in her night dress and dressing gown, a gently smile on her face

"I know you will." She said quietly, walking over and sitting beside him on the bed. "I believe in you."

"Thanks Lu." Peter mumbled, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and placing a kiss to the top of her head. "It's just hard to - to believe in myself, to believe that I can actually find him."

"Peter you need to believe in yourself." Lucy answered. "You have every reason to."

"How do I?" Peter choked. "This isn't the first time I've lost Edmund."

Lucy sighed. "You didn't lose him Peter." She murmered.

"I'm the one that let him go riding." Peter breathed, shaking his head. "I - I should've said no, I should not of let him go."

"Peter this isn't your fault." Lucy sighed. "You didn't lose Edmund. This time or the last time."

Peter squeezed his eyes shut for a moment before opening them again. "I've never really protected him enough." He choked.

"Peter what are you talking about?" Lucy said, eyes filling with tears. "Of course you have."

Peter shook his head. "I didn't protect him when we first came to Narnia, he was captured and almost killed! I shouldn't of let that happen." He choked.

"Peter you couldn't of stopped the witch from capturing Edmund." Lucy said gently.

"It wasn't just that time." Peter breathed. "What about when we went to war against the witches followers? He was attacked by that giant, he nearly died!"

"Peter how could you of stopped that?" Lucy sighed. "You were over the other side of the field."

Peter shook his head. "I still should've tried." He whispered.

"Peter look." Lucy said, pulling out of Peter's arms and staring up at him. "You always, always try your hardest to protect Edmund. And the reason that may not always work out, is because Edmund is always doing something that could get him into trouble."

Peter couldn't help but chuckle at this. "He is rather mischievous." He said. "Even though he is sixteen."

Lucy smiled gently. "See." She said softly. "Look, you'll find Edmund, because I know you never give up, especially when it comes to your siblings."

Peter finally glanced down at her, giving him a grateful smile. "Thanks Lu." He breathed, placing a kiss to her forehead.

"You're welcome." Lucy replied, wrapping her arms around Peter's waist and burying her face against his chest. "Just don't lose faith. Believe in yourself and trust in Aslan."

Peter smiled slightly, pulling his sister close. "I will." He murmered, resting his chin on the top of Lucy's head.

"You should probably get some sleep." Lucy sighed after a while.

Peter nodded slightly. "Yeah." He breathed. "And first thing tomorrow I'm heading back out again, and this time we're camping so we can search further."

Lucy stared at him for a moment. "Alright." She breathed eventually. "Whatever it takes to find him."

"I - I can't even imagine how worried he might he right now." Peter choked.

"Edmund's brave Peter." Lucy reassured him. "He'll get through this. He'll stay strong."

Peter nodded hesitantly. "I know he'll stay strong." He sighed. "But that doesn't mean he won't be scared."

"Just get some sleep." Lucy mumbled. "Edmund's gonna be alright, and you'll find him, I know you will. As I said, I believe in you."

Peter smiled. "Love you Lu." He murmered. "Night."

"Goodnight Peter." Lucy said gently, smiling as she stood from the bed and headed for the door. "Sleep tight."

"I'll try." Peter choked as soon as she'd left.

He didn't know how much sleep he'd get, not with the nightmares he'd been having. Everytime he closed his eyes he saw Edmund either dead, or seriously injured, and it scared him, it scared him so, so much.
