"We should think about setting up camp for the night."

Peter glanced up at Orious, slowly nodding his head. "Yeah." He breathed. "You okay with that Ed?"

Edmund, who was currently wide awake, nodded. "Yeah..." He murmured. "I'm really sore anyway."

Peter sighed sadly, but drew Philip to a stop, patting the horses neck before climbing down and helping Edmund down behind him, worried when his brothers legs buckled beneath him and he had to quickly grab him so he didn't hit the ground.

Edmund groaned in pain, burying his face against Peter's shoulder before taking a shuddering breath. "Sorry." He choked out after a while.

Peter frowned and shook his head. "Why are you apologising?" He murmured. "It's not your fault."

Edmund didn't say anything and only sighed, and Peter after a while sat with him in the sand, making sure he was comfortable before glancing up at Orious.

"I can set up camp with your sisters help." The centaur told him. "You stay with your brother and maybe try and get him to eat something."

Peter nodded, but bit his lip, after all right now that was easier said than done.

But after a moment he reached into his bag, finding a slightly squashed but still perfectly edible orange, which he set about peeling as much as he could before ripping it open and holding up a bit to Edmund.

Edmund stared at it for ages, before glancing slowly up at his brother.

"Come on," Peter sighed. "You know you need to eat something, you'll starve if you don't."

Edmund swallowed hard, but took the piece of orange, only nibbling on it until Peter handed him a few more, when he had no choice but to eat it properly.

He managed another orange, some bread and some cheese in the time it took the others to set up the tents, and even then Peter was trying to convince him to eat an apple.

"I'm full Peter." Edmund whispered, sounding desperate.

"You haven't eaten nearly enough Ed." Peter sighed, sounding worried.

"Yes, I have." Edmund replied, not sounding at all happy.

Peter bit his lip. "Just try it?" He suggested. "If you take a bite and decide you definitely don't want it, then you don't have to eat it."

Edmund groaned. "But I already know I definitely don't want it." He tried.

Peter stared at him, before sighing. "Alright." He murmured, returning the apple to his bag with a sigh.

"Thank you." Edmund choked out. "I am sorry Peter, but I just can't-"

Peter frowned when Edmund stopped talking, and stared at him. "Ed?" He asked, sounding confused.

Edmund swallowed hard, before he quickly turned away to throw up, causing Peter to leap up and kneel by his side, soothing and calming him until he'd finished.

"Oh Ed." Peter whispered as Edmund slowly sat up straight.

Edmund let out a quiet sob, turning to bury his face against Peter's shoulder as he trembled. "No - No more food." He choked out.

Peter nodded slowly. "Okay." He whispered. "No more food." ... "Not for the time being anyway."

Peter smiled gently as he and Edmund lay in bed that night, Edmund curled against Peter's side with his head rested against his chest, eyes closed but still awake.
