For the years living in the lies and pretending that I am okay is not new to me. Enduring all the pain alone so I can protect the family who protected me since I was born, I am all okay. That's okay as long as I won't hurt them... so no one can cause them pain.

They are both my strength and weakness. One of the reasons why I am alive and kicking today. They are my most valued possession and I intend to protect them with all I have, with all I can... even if it means I'll sink in pain.

Kaya ang makitang ang aking ina na nangingilid ang luha, may sumasalaming sakit sa mga mata habang nakatingin sa aking ama ay mas nagpasakit sa akin. Parang pinipiga at dinudurog ang aking puso sa emosyong ipinapakita ng aking ina.

"Lolo, Mommy, Daddy, if my life is in danger..." I trailed off. "...would you allow that to happen?"

"No, Duchess. Of course not," Lolo seriously said. Isang beses tumikhim bago simimsim sa kaniyang tasa. "If the time comes, I hope you will choose what's better for you, Duchess. I hope you choose what your heart really wants."

"I always trust your decisions Duchess. You never disappoint me with your decision-making skills. You decide, I and your brothers will protect you. As always." Si Daddy habang hinahaplos ng marahan ang likod ni Mommy.

"Then, I am okay now. Thank you for the assurance."

"Who would dare do things to you D? Kilay mo pa lang nakakatakot na," irap ni Hilacio the Third na halatang pinapagaang ang aming umagahan. Ngumisi ako.
