I stared up at the motel we were going to be staying at. Did it look eerie and empty, yes it did. Weirdly it reminded me of the old house. "I've seen worse." I muttered as everyone stepped off the bus. "Where have you seen worse?" Stiles questioned. I gave him a look, "Do you really want me to answer that?"
He shook his head. "No." I thought so.
Coach blew his whistle to get our attention. I wince at the noise, the entire bus ride here he constantly had some reason to blow it. It was getting annoying. There is a difference between having to listen to it during lacrosse practice at a distance and listening to it in a confined bus that was practically a cofin with so much kids.
'Listen up! The meet's been pushed 'til tomorrow. This is the closest motel with the most vacancies and the least amount of good judgement when it comes to accepting a bunch of degenerates like yourselves! You'll be pairing up-- choose wisely."
Lydia, Allison and I decided to pair up. I took the keys to our room from Coach.
"And I'll have no sexual perversions perpetrated by you little deviants!" Coach warned everyone. "Got that? Keep your dirty little hands to your dirty little selves!"
Oh coach there is little chance in that. Allison and I began to walk with everyone else but then we noticed Lydia wasn't next to us. She was standing still, staring at the building.
"Lydia?"
"I don't like this place." Lydia muttered, she was scared. It radiated off her clear as day.
"I don't think the people who own this place like this place." Allison told her. "It's just for one night."
"A lot can happen in one night."

"Anything?" I could see my dad shaking his head. I knew I shouldn't have become hopeful. When we were on the bus, Cora called with news. She said that Derek and Ennis' bodies weren't found. "Peter, Cora, your mom and I went back to see if we could find something. The bodies weren't there."
"So what? They took their bodies?" I questioned horrified. Why would they do that? You'd think they have the decency to give us Derek's body if he was truly dead.
"It's what we think. That at least one of them got up and left."
"Have you figured out who?"
"We went to the animal clinic, and Kali was upset. I can tell you it was not for Derek."
I closed my eyes and began forcing words out. "So if Ennis was the one who got up and died. Does that mean Derek is-?" I can't bring myself to say the words. If I say them, after what we know I might lose it.
"We don't know yet. Peter thinks that maybe he was alive when they took them, since Derek is an alpha, Peter thinks that Deucalion stole his spark."
"Dad, that means-"
"I know Izzo." It means that who ever stole his spark, probably Deucalion is stronger now. He said so himself, killing his beta gave him his spark. He got stronger. I don't understand one thing, if that is what happened, and that's a huge if, why didn't Ennis use Derek's spark to heal himself? Derek's spark, an Alphas spark could probably have easily healed him. Unless Derek got up I don't see how Ennis wouldn't have stolen it.
"We're still looking." I nod. "Tell me what you find." We said our goodbyes and I cut the call. I put my phone to the side and covered my face with my hands. I hope that Derek is alive. Derek is more than my cousin, he's my brother. The one I never had. I lost Laura I cannot lose him to. "Nothing good?" Allison asked, searching through the drawers for towels while looking at me. I shook my head. "No."
