I backed away from the creature, was that even what I could call it? It was my own self. My hair was darker than normal, my eyes this violet blue. "Stay away from me!" I yelled, pressing myself against the wall.
"Why?" My, I guess I could call it, shadow self said. She pulled a pen out of her pocket, it was my mom's engraved pen, the one I used as a tether to my mother.
She threw it up but when it came down it stopped mid-air in her palm. Actually it levitated. "Things are changing in you, you can feel it."
She takes the pen in her hands, "And you have no idea what's going to happen." I shake my head, I didn't. I don't know what is happening to me. Her eyes glowed a weird shade of a violet. Violet?
I've seen different colored eyes in creatures: red (for alphas), blue (for betas that have killed innocent people), yellow (for betas) and that's it. I've never seen purple. The things in the room around us began to float and she yelled at me, except not in our voice. "ISABELLE!"
What?
"ISABELLE!" yelled a voice, my parents. My eyes opened, the first thing I saw was things flying over my head. I sat up. My parents were ducking from things that began flying in my room, the lights began to flicker on and off.
What was happening? I lifted my hands in the air, as if on instinct and then everything that was flying suddenly dropped. My parents stood and stared at the destruction of my room. I looked around horrified. Did I do this?
Mom and Dad rushed to my side. "What's happening to me?"

"And what color did you say your eyes were?" Deaton asked after he finished shining the light in my eyes. "Her eyes." I corrected him, because she was not me. I had no idea how she did what she did but I don't know how to do that. I leaned back. "And they were purple." Deaton frowns and looks at my parents.
"Purple eyes?"
Mom shrugs, "I have never seen someone with purple glowing eyes." Deaton nods at the information. We came to Deaton for help with my situation, last night wasn't the only time this has happened. It's happened before. Ever since that night.
My parents decided to bring me to Deaton, see if he knew what was happening to me. From the look on his face, he didn't. His eyes suddenly went wide and looked at my dad. "Nathan," Dad frowns on being called out. "You were adopted right?"
Dad nods slowly, "Yes. By a nice couple with a daughter in Missouri." Gran, Pop and Aunt Nancy. Dad's side of the family. Like I told the boys, my dad didn't know what he was till he was 10.
Nancy was 15 and she helped contain him. Talk about trauma. Gran and Pop pop by during the school year to help us out. Deaton looks down, we can practically see the gears turning in his head. "What is it?"
Deaton looks at all of us, specifically me and my dad. "Nathan, have you ever thought you might be something more?" Dad raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"What do you know about your biological family?" Dad shrugged and shook his head. "Nothing. I mean, my sister actually tried to find them."
"Any luck?"
"She was 15 and everything was paper back then so no." Deaton looks like it wasn't what he was expecting. He looks at me. "It might be possible that this is because of your true biology."
We all frowned at him, what the hell was he talking about? "What do you mean?" Mom asked. Deaton quickly explains, "Nathan you were adopted so there is a possibility that you have another supernatural bloodline.
And because Isabelle was poisoned, and died for 16 hours, and gave her power to the nematon it awoke the dormant side of her biology."
I frowned. Uh what? Mom and Dad exchanged looks. "Uh-" They looked overwhelmed. Mom sighs and hands me my school bag. "Why don't you just go to school sweetheart.
We'll try to figure things out on our end." I nod, it didn't seem like I had much of a choice. Plus, I was going to be late if I didn't hurry. Dad got on the phone as I left, I heard him say Nancy's name.
Something tells me I'm not going to like whatever they find out.
