“Sorry, but I can't let you walk out with this.” Parrish said, holding Argents electric rod. “It's way above the legal voltage limit.”

Derek, Argent, and my dad were finally released from all the charges against them. I came to pick them up. Them and I guess also Argent since Allison wasn't here yet. I had no doubt she was at the hospital checking up on Isaac.

Who was still, very much, in a bad state. I visited him yesterday, and didn't stay long since I couldn't stand him looking like that.

“I only use it for hunting.” Derek, me and my dad give him a hilariously exasperated look at his comment which Argent returns with a roll of his eyes. Parrish isn’t convinced.

“Yeah, well, I'm pretty sure you could use it to jump-start a 747.”

Again, we glared at Argent who sighs. “This property belongs to me, and the charges were dropped." He tells Parrish before looking at us. "Although, I'm not exactly sure who's responsible for that.”

Stilinski came up behind us. “I am.”

Derek and my dad looked at me and I shrugged. I didn't ask him to. Even if I had asked him he would have said no.

“I'll take care of this, Parrish.”

“Stilinski, I'm not kidding–," Parrish waves the rod in his hands. "This thing's a few watts from being a lightsaber.”

We glared at Argent again.

“I said I'll take care of it.”

Without any explanation, Stilinski motioned us to follow him inside his office for privacy. Once the door is closed he speaks freely.

“The specialist I saw in LA told me the thing that every doctor says when he's trying to avoid a lawsuit–” Stilinski told us.

"We can't say for sure." And then, I spoke with Melissa.” He pulled out a black tub and two brain scans slipped out.

From my point they looked identical but I can't say for sure. I'm guessing one of them belongs to Stiles. Or maybe both of them do.

I picked them up, looking at the names written on top. Clauida Stilinski and Stiles Stilinski. “These are brain scans–, my wife's, and Stiles'" Stilinski tells the other adults in the room.

"I knew they were similar, but those are the same.”

I put one on top of the other to see what he meant, he was right. They fit perfectly. Every curve, every line, every word on the scan fit the other picture like if it was part of a puzzle piece.

“Exactly the same.”

“And I'm guessing this isn't possible?” Derek questioned as I handed Stilinski back and scans. Stilinski shook his head as he slipped them back in the tube.

“Not even remotely.”

“So, the trickster is still playing tricks.” Argent realized. Derek sighed. “But why this trick?”

Stilinski spoke. “When I was in the Army, an officer told me, "If you want to defeat your enemy, you don't take away their courage-- you take away their hope."

“You don't look like a man who gives up hope easily.” Argent notes. Stilinski shakes his head.

“But Stiles might. If this thing inside him... if it's using his mother's disease as some sort of psychological trick, then this isn't just a fight for his body. It's also a fight for his mind. Right?”

I nodded. It made sense. From what the scroll said, about changing the body of the host to kill the nogitsune, and this it tracks. And as of lately, he's trying to take over his body. Probably for good at some point.
