“Danny, are you awake?” I asked Danny's sleeping figure. I don’t know why I expected a response. He’s asleep. Getting poisoned according to Scott with mistletoe can take its toll. Even if that’s not even really why he was sick. Mistletoe, the classic Christmas tradition. Mistletoe for us werewolves is a poison just like wolfsbane is.
“Danny?” I poked his face again. Stiles gave him a light slap that made Danny flinch and so did we. Damn!
“What are you doing?” Danny asked through closed eyes. “I'm not doing anything, Danny.” Stiles defended. “This is just a dream you're having.” I nod, yeah that's totally believable. Stiles crouched to Danny's bag and began to search through it. It's the whole reason we’re here, there has to be some reason why the Darach tried killing him.
“Are you going through my stuff?” I whirled to Danny in surprise. His eyes were closed. How in the hell did he even know? Is he a werewolf? Yeah no he's not. Stiles shook his head. “Right, but only in the dream, remember? Dream. Dreaming.”
“Why would I dream about you going through my stuff?”
“I don't know that, Danny, okay?” I almost laugh so I cover my mouth, stifling the laugh. “It's your dream. Take responsibility for it. Shut up and go back to sleep.”
I shook my head and crouched down next to Stiles, searching through Danny's bag. There were a lot of papers, figures. This was his school bag. There was a stack of them stapled together that I pulled out, Telluric Currents. I hand them to Stiles to look at. “Danny-boy, you might've actually found something here.”
Stiles and I took the papers from him, they were a project for Harris, one that he didn’t like. Stiles and I exit the hospital and begin to walk back to his car. I left my car at the animal clinic, we were going there to meet up with the others anyway.
“Deaton's got to be at one of the six locations,” Scott told us over the phone. Allison had found some locations from her dad, possible locations for Deatons whereabouts. “but they're all over town. I don't know how we can get to all of them fast enough.”
“Well, we might not have to.” I held up the packet, reading the title. “Danny was doing a project on something for Mr. Harris' physics class, and I think it actually means something.”
“What project?” Scott asked. I frown at the title, I flipped through it a little but I still didn’t understand it. “Something on...telluric currents.”
“Did you say "currents?"

“Okay, so what does this kid's homework have to do with finding Deaton?” Cora asked as we all scattered papers on the clinic vet table.
“Because it's not just homework, okay?” I told my cousin as I helped Lydia, Scott and Stiles shift through all of the papers. “It's a project on geomagnetic fields. They flow through the earth. They can even be affected by lunar phases.”
Stiles nods and flips to the second page of Danny's project. “Now, look at this-- this is a note from Harris on Danny's proposal.”
Lydia read from it. "I strongly advise you to choose another topic. The ideas here, while innovative and thoughtful, border on pseudoscience. Not suitable for class."
“Harris wasn't just a sacrifice--” Scott realized. “He knew something.”
I nod. “Now, check this out--” I pulled out the folded map from inside the packet and sprawled it on the table.
“Allison's dad wasn't the only one with a map, all right? Danny had one, too.” Stiles points at the markings Danny had made. “Danny marked all the telluric currents, okay? Now, the weird thing about Beacon Hills is that it actually is a beacon-- you wouldn't believe how much energy flowing through the earth is around this town.”
“Stiles, look.” Scott compared Argents map to Dannys. “They match!”
“All right, there's three places, right? Where they're kidnapped,” he circled the spots on the map. “and then the place where their body was found.”
Lydia pointed. “Look, that's right on the telluric current.”
“So, maybe where he was sacrificed is somewhere in between?” I suggested.
“Let me see that.” Stiles took the pen. “You said there's six more bodies to be found. Deaton's one of them.”
Stiles began to scribble on the map and I saw the lines overlap on the bank. Oh my god, “Stop.” I grab Stiles hand, stopping him from going further away. I led his hand to the bank.
“He's in the vault--” Cora said shocked. “the same vault.” We found him. We all begin to scatter, putting away the papers to go after Deaton. “We need to get going now,” Scott told us. “He’ll lose strength if we don’t hurry.”
My phone and Cora’s simultaneously buzzed. I handed the papers in my hands over to Lydia who put them away while I checked my messages. It was a message from Boyd, the plan didn’t work. We knew the Alphas were going to come again.
I looked up at Cora, my throat constricting. No. “Guys wait.” I called to my friends. “Izz we don't have time--”
Cora and I both looked at Scott, sharing a look. “The plan didn't work. They cut the power.” Scott looked stunned. “It's just like he said.”
“Go.” Scott told us. “I can save Deaton myself.”
“What? Scott, what about us?” Stiles asked.
“Izz and Cora can't get there fast enough without you. “Go. We can save both of them.”
I exhaled deeply, trying to calm myself. “Alright let's go.”
I was too nervous to drive, we took my car, since it was faster than Stiles. Stiles was driving, Lydia and Cora in the back. I absentmindedly rubbed my necklace, my triskelion necklace. If we don’t get there in time I could lose Derek again, they could kill him. Worse, they could kill one of the boys. Stiles took my hand when he saw my worried face. I gave him a thankful smile. Then he pressed the pedal. I was worried out of my mind. I called my parents who said they would get there as fast as they could.
Before Stiles even parked the car, I grabbed the handle on my seat to lower it while I also grabbed the door handle and pushed it open. Jumping out before Stiles rolled up to the parking spot. They all hurried out, “Come on!” I ushered as Cora and I took the lead. Derek, Isaac and Boyd had poured water all over the loft floor, in hopes of electrifying the living hell out of the alphas, except since they had cut the power.
We all hurried to the room for the circuit breakers that power the entire building.
“Okay what do we do?” Stiles asked as we stared at the breaker. Breakers. “We pull them.” I said. “All of them.”
I text Isaac as we were doing it. NOW. We begin to pull every leaver, every button, every switch. When we were done we began to race up the stairs, please let it work. When we reached the loft the first thing we saw was miss Blake being held by Isaac, protecting her. I can’t believe they brought her as leverage against Derek.
Looking at the scene in the loft I gasped. Derek leaned over Boyd, his body on the ground, the water under him red. I stumbled back in surprise. No. I grabbed Stiles’ arm for support as Cora and I rushed past Stiles, Cora went straight to Boyd. They had been together for three months locked in that bank vault.
Derek was kneeled in front of him, I didn’t care for how wet my clothes would be as I crouched in front of Boyd. There was no heartbeat, he was dead. Truly dead. I looked at Derek, his hands were shaking. I pulled in my lips to keep from sobbing as I took his hand. It happened, just like he said it would.
