Deku's Pov

I stood over the dead body of the Nomu, laughing like a maniac. I was starting to calm down when a crack erupted from my side. I winced and glanced down at my rib cage. "Hey Aizawa, look." I pointed to my rib, which was sticking out of my body. The rough edge of the break in the bone had pierced the skin, exposing the rib. Aizawa's face became deathly pale. "You are the most irresponsible teenager I have ever met. Do you know how many students I have? You being the worst isn't a compliment." Aizawa said, voice shaking. "Relax dad." I said in a joking manner. "I was doing this for 2 years before you met me." Aizawa scoffed. "Being 12 and on the run isn't an accomplishment." I chuckled, wincing at the pain in my side. "Yeah, maybe not for you." Aizawa must have picked up on the sad tone in my voice, because he didn't say anything. "For me, being 12 and on the run meant I wasn't as worthless as I always thought I was. It made me feel important, like I was actually doing something. It made me think 'if I can evade the police while taking down villains 10 times my size, I can do anything.'" I saw Aizawa tear up and swallow. "But anyways," I said cheerfully, "I'm not dead yet, so something must be working out for me." Aizawa couldn't muster up enough strength to chuckle at my statement.

Some time between the Nomu dying and us arriving at the hospital I passed out, because the next thing I remember, I was in a hospital bed. I checked my stitches to see they were completely healed, and then I checked my rib. I winced at it's soreness and looked around the room. There was only one bed, which I was on, and machines surrounded me. The room looked too big to only hold one bed, so I assumed they wheeled the others out. I turned off the heart monitor before it could start beeping and peeled all of the nodes off me. Ripping the IV out of my arm, I winced at the weird feeling and got out of bed. I stopped breathing for a second when my rib burned. Then, I grunted and walked out of the door. I rode the elevator down to the first floor and then walked up to the front desk. "Tenya Iida please." I said. The receptionist told me the room number and then looked up. "Wait sir, you are supposed to be in bed." She said, once again looking at my outfit. "Thank you miss." I said, completely ignoring her statement. I hopped back onto the elevator and walked to Iida's room.

I threw the door open wide, startling the patients. I was surprised to see that Todoroki and Kacchan were also on hospital beds. I blinked at them, and they blinked back. "Pfft." I said, before my small giggle became a chuckled. "What happened to you guys?" I asked. Kacchan sighed as Todoroki explained. "After you passed out from blood loss and exhaustion, 3 Nomu came out of nowhere. The pros fought the Nomu off while Iida, Bakugo and I were tasked with transporting Freezerburn to the police station and Shinigami to the hospital. This was the closest one. Anyway, while we were heading back to the group, we ran into a few villains." I nodded. "Well, how about you, Deku? We didn't see you at all." Actually, you saw me a lot. "I jumped off of a moving train to fight a bunch of Nomu." I said casually. Kacchan and Iida stared at me with wide eyes and jaws hanging open. Todoroki didn't look too surprised. "I've been meaning to ask you a question Midoriya, and I think you know what it is. Do you want me to ask somewhere more private?" I looked to Todoroki and shook my head. "Ask away." He nodded. "Are you Shinigami?"

I smiled. "I think you already know the answer to that question." Todoroki nodded and said, "Thank you for saving us." He seemed to mean more people than just him, Iida, and Kacchan. I thought back to my encounter with Endeavor and rage flooded my veins. "No problem, that son of a bitch deserves way worse than jail, but unfortunately I passed out before I could capture and torture him." I said, a pleasant smile on my face. Kacchan and Iida flinched as I talked about torture. "How would you have done it?" Todoroki asked. "Ooh, good question. I would have liked to break him mentally first, because of the psychological abuse he put your mom through. I would have started by sticking him in a dark room with dripping water so that the constant, steady sound drove him crazy. Then, I would beat him enough to make him sore for weeks, but not enough to kill him. Lastly, I would get pay back for what he did for Touya. He died because of quirk overuse, right? So for Endeavor, I would strap him to a table, cut him open, and burn him for the inside out. Symbolic, don't you think? Killed by the very thing you trust the most. We could call it his entrance ticket to hell! Ah, his screams would've been glorious." I said, slight blush lining my cheeks.

Only a cough broke the silence. Kacchan, Iida, and Todoroki looked at me like I was insane. Which, I probably was, but who cares. Finally, someone spoke. "Hey Deku, how did you learn torture techniques?" I looked at him confused before it clicked. "Are you talking about the room and water? I learned it during my training. Of course, it was being used on me at the time. Sensory deprivation is a powerful thing." The others looked at me in horror. "How- How long did it take you to break?" Asked Iida. "Oh, I was already broken. And as you can see, I'm not shattered, so it was pretty ineffective. I treated it like a learning experience. Boy, did that piss them off." Iida spoke up. "Who's them?" I chuckled at that and said, "All in good time, my friend.

We heard a knock on the door and we all faced towards it. The door slid open and a guy with a dog head and a police uniform stood at the entrance. Next, all of our caretakers came in. Pretty soon, the room was crowded with people. Manual walked towards Iida and karate chopped him in the center of his forehead. Then, after a thorough scolding, he pulled the younger hero into a hug. "Hey Iida, I've gotta question. Freezerburn attacked you, right? Do you mind if I check your wounds?" Suddenly, the room went silent. The mentors and police looked at me in surprise while Iida looked at me curiously. "Sure." He said, unwrapping some of his bandages. "Do you mind if I draw blood? I wanna see what holds the blood together as he draws it out of the body. Hopefully, it's still in your system." Iida looked surprised I had even thought of it and nodded. I grabbed a blood drawing kit from a drawer that happened to be in the room and approached Iida. He put out his stitched arm and I put the needle carefully into the skin around his wound. Filling up a small vial, I grabbed another one and moved a little further up his arm. "Now, I need to build a blood chemistry analyzer." Aizawa, who happened to walk it right as I said that, sighed. "Great, another machine." He smiled at me and then pulled me into a hug. "I thought I lost you kid." When he said that, an emotion I didn't feel too often flooded through my veins. Against my better judgement, I buried my face into his body as silent tears flowed down my cheeks. So this is a parent.
