Round 2 Part 1 - Chapter 30

Deku's Pov

I stepped on the battle field and smiled. it wasn't my normal, happy-go-lucky smile that I put on in front of my classmates. I was already kinda ticked because I could predict how this battle was going to go, so my smile was a bit menacing. I waved towards the crowd as their cheers got louder. I looked towards my opponent and sighed. Todoroki. "Alright everyone, our first fight of the second round in none other than the first place winner in all events so far, Izuku Midoriya, and his close second, Shoto Todoroki. I am really looked forward to see how this fight goes, because both contestants have had strong performances throughout the sports festival so far. Shoto Todoroki had a strong showing of power during the first round, taking his opponent, Hanta Sero, down in a few seconds. In the first round, we saw Midoriya beat his opponent in a timely manner as well, but it was not his strongest showing. Will he continue to stay on top?" Papa rambled into the microphone.

I looked towards Midnight as she started the battle. "Go!" I charged towards Todoroki and punched him in the arm. He looked startled, like he hadn't expected it. He sent a wave of ice towards me and I jumped out of the way to dodge it. Twisting mid-air, I axe kicked Todoroki's left shoulder. "Use it, your gonna need it." I said, hopping out of the way of another ice attack. I quickly dodged his next attack and glanced to the side. There, in the stadium, surrounded by pros, sat Endeavor. He was handcuffed to the seat and tied down by chains. I chuckled and flipped him off, tongue sticking out of my mouth as I dodge another one of Todoroki's attacks. Todoroki looks at me confused before turning to the side and seeing his dad. His eyes widened and he glanced at me. I stuck my tongue out at Enji again, and this time he roared. He struggled against the chains and the pro heroes assigned to watch him held him down. I chuckled again and jumped, dodging Todoroki's ice for the millionth time. I rushed Todoroki, managing to punch him in the stomach. He keeled over before sending out another wave of ice. Dodging it, I punched him in the gut again. I sighed. "Why aren't you using your full power? You do realize it's yours, right?" He looked at me confused. "You have fire in that left side of yours. Rejecting it isn't rejecting your father, it's rejecting half of yourself. He's in jail, he can't control you. It's yours. Your quirk, not his." As I said this, I punched his left arm.

He burst out in flames, burning the skin on my knuckles. I smiled, hopped back, and chuckled darkly. "This'll be more fun now. Make sure to keep the flames up." Todoroki sent a wave of flames towards me and I flashed back to my fight with Enji. I froze for a second, barely able to jump out of the way in time. I shook my head and charged. I got Todoroki in the gut again before I shot behind him. I grabbed his shoulders, one burning and one covered in ice, and flipped him over myself. He let off a pained sound as he hit the ground, bouncing back up from the force and spitting into the sky. Before he could recover, I kicked him across the battlefield. He flew towards my starting area. I ran towards him again, dodging ice waves and waves of fire. All of a sudden, I got closer to him and a ring of fire appeared around us. I kneed him in the gut and then kicked him square in the face. His head snapped back and he laid on the ground. He was bleeding from the nose, which was possibly broken, and he was sure to have a deep purple bruise on his stomach. I waited for him to pull himself up off the ground before I crossed the line of fire. The fabric on my back had been burned away, as well as some of the fabric on my left arm, exposing my burns. I looked over at Endeavor, seeing the confused look on his face. I ran towards Todoroki, who had exited the ring of fire, and pulled a move I had done while fighting the older Todoroki. Recognition flashed across his features as he tried to stand up and shout. I grinned and chuckled darkly. "He knows." I said to myself. Todoroki looked at me, confused. "Knows what?" I leaned in, grabbing his head, and whispered in his ear. "That I beat his ass." Before he had a chance to register, I moved my hands to his shoulders and kneed him in the stomach again. He puked anything he might've eaten earlier and crumbled to the ground. He stayed down, groaning in pain.

Midnight looked stunned, mouth agape, before she shakily brought the microphone to her mouth. "M-M-M-Midoriya wins!" The crowd erupted into cheers as I picked Todoroki off of the ground. I laid him across my burned back and walked towards Recovery Girl.

I hissed as Todoroki rubbed against my burns. I threw him on the bed and ripped off my torn shirt. I grabbed the burn cream I used on Kacchan earlier. Spreading the cream on any place I could reach, I turned towards Todoroki. He had a look on his face that showed concern. "Hey." I hummed. "Can you apply this on my burns?" He nodded and spread the cream in silence. "Sorry." He said. I nodded and waited for him to finish.
