Big Brother Adam

I was walking to the district, I had been going there after school. I was a couple streets away when suvs surrounded me making me step back confused. "Bailey Halstead" a man in a suit said as he got out walking towards me. My left hand on my phone ready to call my dad or Voight probably the later he answers more. "I want to make you a deal" "I haven't done anything so I don't need a deal" I snap "I'm an FBI agent" he flashes his badge towards me "see if you don't help I'm going to burry your father" "and if your father goes away what happens to you" another guy said "what do you want" I ask "Sargent Voight" I look around for a way out. Truth was I was freaking out but I couldn't let them see that, he hands me a card "you have 24 hours if we don't hear from you say goodbye to your dad and you will also find the inside of a cage heard your quiet aquatinted with them" before I can answer they were gone. I stand there in shock I didn't know what to think or feel. I snap out of the shock and run to the district. Thank god I play soccer so I could run for long distances.

I run up the the front desk Trudy staring at me confused. I grab a pen and snatch paper from her meet me in the garage in 10 bring Hank don't tell dad I slip the paper to her racing away dodging the officers. I put my bag in the locker room leaving my phone in there, before heading down to the garage. I pace the garage loosing my mind I didn't know what to think or feel. I fiddle with the card as tears come to my eyes. Why am I always in these crapy situations. "Bailey what going on Platt seemed concerned said you demanded our presence" I hand him the card my hands shaking Hank stares at it before handing to Trudy. "They cornered me" I take a deep breath trying to calm myself "said if I didn't give information on you I would loose my dad and they would lock me up" tears start to fall I could tell they were furious "calm down we will figure this out" "I have twenty four hours" "from now on you are going to be with someone from the unit all times and if we are busy Trudy will have someone we trust come get you I'm not letting some feds threaten my granddaughter" I smile he wraps his arms around me "I will deal with it" I nod they talk to me for a few more minutes before Hank led me up the steps.

"I want someone always with Bailey here if we can't Trudy will have patrol someone we trust with her" he  told the unit. I don't stop just walking into his office just sitting down. "Sarge what's going on" my dad asks "feds cornered her blackmailing her" "with what" Hailey asks confused "burry Halstead and lock her in a cage" "so we always have someone with them" Adam said shrugging "that's the idea" Hank said "you ok kiddo" My dad asked as he came and stood in front of me "no if I loose you" "you won't we will take care of this" "I had just gotten over all the fear from the school and now" "hey you don't have to be afraid or scared we will figure this out" I let him wrap his arms around me holding me to him. I felt safe like nothing could hurt me.

The team had to go out so I was here with Adam. I was sitting at my dads desk. "Hey Bai do you know how to do this" I say up walking over sitting beside him. I hit a few keys he stares at me in utter shock. "Mouse taught me a few things" he nods "why didn't you say that before instead of always making me go to Belle" I shrug "I guess I only use it when I need" I add "you know we're going to make sure nothing happens right" "I know" I sigh rubbing my face "why do I have to deal with all this crap" "you were dealt a crap hand but I can tell you you are the absolute strongest person I know" I smile at him his the first person to tell me that. It different hearing it as opposed to just assuming it. "You have this fire inside of you that I wish I had...your going to be an amazing cop one day if that's what you want to do" I leap over and hug him "you the first person besides my dad and uncle Will to tell me that and when they say it's not the same...it's like that they are meant to think that feel that" he nodding I can tell despite his attention being on the computer his listening to me. "You know your the only one I really talk to" "really what about your friends" "I talk to them but not like I talk to you. I tell you everything an despite how goofy you are your super caring and always have the best advice when I need it" he smiles his goofy smile at me "your my big brother Adam" he squeezes my arm. "Your the best little sister ever" I laugh spinning on the chair "where did go when you vanished" I take a deep breath it was the question I hated. The one I didn't want to answer. "His a friend of all of us but it's the one place the one place where I can go that isn't one of you who won't report back" "I can live with that but can you promise me you will send me a message don't just fall of the face off the earth again" I take a moment to think about it "if I messaged you you can ping my cell" "so message from school not like we didn't know you never missed a day" I smile he turns to face me "your a good kid Bai you know right from wrong hell you understand the grey bits better than anyone...your smart and brave and so so strong. Never let anyone crush your dream I know people have been constantly trying to beat you down. I honestly don't know how you stand up but you do and I know it makes me and everyone else so proud...it breaks our heart when your upset or hurt but you collect yourself and you stand up like nothing happened coming back stronger each time. Your a teenager and somehow your so much stronger than half of us" "half" I question making him half "ok maybe all of us question on Voight you got the rest of us beat by a long shot" I wrap my arms around him "I can always help" he looks confused "I may have said it very loosely when I said mouse taught me a few things...I use to" I smile "mouse use to watch me when my dad was busy and uncle Will was in New York" what I didn't know was the other had come back and were listening, my attention was on Adam. He kept glancing at the computer as it runs facial rec but his focus on me. "My favourite memory is when I was four it was just me and mouse. I would sit on his lap and he would tell me what keys to push. We watched the traffic on cameras" I laugh smiling "I remember counting the amount of black cars one day pretty sure it was just to distract me I was very committed I was four, I knew how to zoom in change angles" I laughs remember another funnier memory "when I was six I remember coming home my dad was at work I was with mouse. We would play a game" "oh yeah how do you play" Adam was watching his computer "it was our changing the light game" "you guys had a lot of games didn't you" I nod "yeah he was my cool hacker big brother uncle person...I wanted to be apart of it of his and my dads world and considering my dads is all this it wasn't exactly plausible for me to be apart of it so me and mouse made games so I could join him. He taught me house to change the traffic lights somedays we would try to get lots of cars in a certain times. Or we would just change the unexpectedly I don't think he enjoyed it as much as I but it made me happy so he did it" "wait you can change traffic lights" I nod "Yep I helped him to a lot mainly he just told me what keys to push but mostly I just watched cameras we made weird stories of people and what they were doing" "any camera" he looked at me and I nod "can you um" he looks around frantically "can you get into cameras on this street" he hands me a paper, I didn't know everyone was watching wondering if I could. I didn't know Adam knew they were there. "That's a big street" he takes it back drawing a red circle "um I can try I haven't done it since I was like eight" he moved out of my way. I open the bar "how do you do that" "it's like a hackers search engine you hit F5 control shift" I type the street in strolling through what comes up. I take a deep breath trying to remember. I could hear movement but I didn't pay attention to it just the green words scrolling up. I right click opening another window typing in an address dragging the address to the hacker search bar as I called it. I allow it to scroll for a minute before clicking on one. It opened a camera, I sigh right clicking making a square around the cameras I could see double clicking and pressing control F4 at the same time a bunch of other windows open. "Wow" I smile at Adam his head beside me "can you narrow it down to" he flicks through papers "4th at um 2am" I pull up the bar typing that in. All the cameras blink before the date and time change. "Um I don't know how to get closer one is the 3rd the rest are the four just different times before 2am" "it's better than I can do" he shrugs sitting beside me I hear a sigh making me look up. I jump out of my skin falling if the chair seeing everyone there. They immediately all laugh. "Not funny you gave me a heart attack" I turn to Adam "did you know" he shrugs making me hit him and walk back over to my dads desk to sit "no don't leave" Adam pouts I just shake my head spinning on the chair.
