Chapter Thirty Seven

I woke up after sometine, I was laying on the couch as I opened my eyes I saw my dad face with panic and tears in his eyes. I closed my eyes again becuase I couldn't see his sad face and also I remembered all the things that Mrs Wislon told me and tears started pouring down. I couldn't except the fact that mum and dad are not together and most importantly they didn't even bother to tell me about it.

"Dad why would you hide something this important from me", I choked on my breath

"I am sorry kid, I didn't wanted to tell you now and let you stress about it, I am so sorry", he said with teary eyes.

"Dad you both are the most important part of my life and coming to know that you aren't together completely shatters me and where is mum actually staying and why wouldn't she call me and talk to me", I said crying while Mrs wilson got me a glass of water and I took it from her and thanked her. She looked at me with pity.

"Let's go home, I will tell you everything kid", he said and I just nodded and got up from the couch. I thanked Mrs wilson for everything because if she wouldn't have told me mum and dad would have kept me in dark. She promised me to stay strong and I told her that I will try and move on from this fact. She hugged me for the last time which was very comforting and I hugged her back and told her to give my regards to Mr Wilson. Dad and I drove back in his car while I told Mrs Wilson that I will take my car tomorrow.

The whole drive to the house was quiet neither of us talking. I couldn't stop my tears from running down. I came here so that I can get a break from college and harry but somehow this place is also haunting my emotions. Seems like my love life and parenthood has come down crashing at the same time and I have to live with this broken emotions. We reached home and I got out of the car and got inside. As dad entered the house I turned around and looked at him

"Please explain me everything", I said while trying to control my tears

"Okay come and sit with me on the couch, promise me that when I tell you everything you wouldn't hate or leave me or mum". He said with pleading eyes.

"I can't promise you anything but I won't leave", I said and sat on the couch. Dad came and sat down with me, he took a sigh and spoke.

Your mum and I had differences before your college but it wasn't a big of a thing that time but I felt a change in your mother behaviour with me she wouldn't show that infront of you but when it was just me and her she would act distant with me. I couldn't comprehend first but then later once you were gone from here I saw her, he sighed for a minute and kept quite

"And then what dad" I asked

"I saw her with george, he's working with her in the same school, first I didn't say much to her becuase he was her colleague. But then she started spending time with him, she would always lie to me whenever she's out later I find out that she has been hanging out with him. After you left she started coming late and stuff. Then one day I sneaked into her phone and saw their conversation and then I realised she's waiting to take a divorce from me and that she loves him now". He said with tears pouring down his face.

"I am so sorry dad, I didn't know mum will do this to you", I hugged him and cried

"Kid it's okay, I don't hate your mum, I love her enough to let her go. We sat and talked about it like grown ups. I was really furious amd upset at first, I didn't speak to her for days, we would just eat, go to work, we didn't even see each other much but then I realised that we cannot force someone to live with us when they don't love you the way like before. As far as she is happy I am happy". He siad

"But dad she broke your heart, I cannot forgive her for this, thats why you looked so miserable when I saw you first time", I said

"Yeah, I was just accepting the reality and please promise me that you won't hate her kid, she really loves you and her heart will break if you avoid her, plus I already told her that you're here she will come and visit at night, so please don't be mad at her", he said

"Dad I don't want to see her today after knowing all this", I said

"Please kid you will be gone on Monday, so atleast see her once for my sake", he said

"Fine dad, I will see her but I will talk to her about all this and you cannot stop me", I said

"Fine but deal with it maturely", he said and I nodded.

"Dad I love you and I will always be here for you", I said hugging him again

"I love you too kid, common now let me cook something for you its already six ", he said smiling

"No way, today I am going to cook for you, I am not a good cook but I will try my best and make a good dinner for you, so you can go and close the shop and come while I will take a shower and then make dinner", I said. He just smiled and kissed my forehead, I could see tears in his eyes but I stood strong in front of him and then he went.

I went and took a hot shower, I was physically and mentally drained, I have to except the fact that mum and dad are not together anymore, I hate mum for now, I don't even want to see her but for the sake of dad I have too. Thinking about all this made me cry more, I cried for good few minutes under the shower.Everything was so perfect but then why this happened. Out of all the things I kind of miss harry today if we would have been good friends I could have asked him to see me but no that was not possible. I got out of the shower and changed into shorts and a shirt. The shirt was long enough and it looked like I wasn't wearing anything but then it's fine its just going to be me and dad. Oh and mum if she comes.

I went down to the kitchen and looked in the fridge examining all the stuffs and thinking what should I cook for dinner. Finally I found some frozen chicken in the fridge so I thought of making it but I wasn't sure what ingredients I need so I thought of checking it on the internet. Finally i found the recipe and began with my experiment after sometime the door bell rang. Ah it must be dad or wait can be it be mum. He told me she's going to show up.
