Chip Switch

"Dooley! Williams! What are you doing in my elevator?" Perry asked as the school's elevator doors opened and revealed the duo.

"We're enjoying the music." Jodie said.

"Today is 'Love Songs From the Nineties'. Wanna dance?" Leo asked.

"Use the stairs! This is exactly how healthy kids become unhealthy adults." Perry said, as the duo walked out of the elevator.

"Really?" Jodie asked as they both looked at Perry. "Are we having this conversation?" She asked again.

"For your information, I'm a speed walker. Perhaps you've seen me at the Mission Creek Mall giving the shoppers a little eye candy." Perry said and walked away from them.

Leo and Jodie looked at each other before gagging a bit.

"Listen up, space-fillers!" Perry said, adressing all the students. "This is Emergency Preparedness Week. An emergency drill can happen at any time. So when the alarm sounds, you must evacuate the building in an orderly fashion- Like cattle, if cattle had acne... and braces... and a future filling up my gas tank." Perry said, laughing and walking away.

"Oh, man! I wish I had Bree's super speed! Because you do not want to be stuck walking behind cows in an emergency, trust me on that!" Adam said as Leo and Jodie stepped up to them.

"You would trade your super strength fro Bree's super speed? Man, if I had your strength, I'd just run out of the building juggling those cows." Chase said.

"Yeah, and if I had your super intelligence, I'd have walked away from this conversation thirty seconds ago." Bree said.

"Hey, you know what would be awesome? If you guys could take out your bionic chips and switched your abilities!" Jodie said.

"Why can't we?!" Chase said.

"I call your super smarts!" Bree said.

"I call yous super speed!" Adam continued.

"I call your super strength!" Chase finished.

"I call good looks and charisma! Oh, too late. Already got 'em." Leo said and walked away with Jodie.

The next morning, the group of five were down in the lab.

"If you guys are gonna switch your chips before school, don't you think you should run this by Davenport first?" Jodie asked.

"They're our chips." Bree said, shurgging.

"Well, yeah, but what if something glitches out and you end up with Adam's gigantic head on Chase's tiny, doll-like body?" Leo asked.

"We don't have to ask 'Daddy' for permission on every single thing we do." Bree said.

"Yeah, I mean, do you think I ask Davenport which shoe goes on which foot? No! I label them 'left' and 'not left'." Adam said, showing them the labels on his shoes.

"Wow.." Jodie said.

"Okay, Bree. Attach the chip extractors to the capsules. I'll program the computer for chip removal. And Adam, you... Just-Just get in your capsule." Chase said.

"Whoo!"

"Now, Leo, I have the most important job of all for you. Now, once we get inside, I'm going to need you to push... this green button." Chase said.

The duo looked at Chase.

"Yeah. And then I'll push the button that makes you stop talking to me like I'm five." Leo said.
