The last time Hyebin had comfortably spent with Changkyun was on New Years Day when they had spent New Year's Eve at a secluded park, surrounded with blankets and food. Despite it having been a cold night, both remembered it as a warm meeting, as it was the night they had officially become each other's, fiancé/fiancée.
Changkyun had opened a small leather box to reveal a matching set of diamond rings, leaving Hyebin gasping in astonishment due to how expensive they looked. The way he had smiled at her, the feeling of her heart fluttering like the first time they had kissed.
Oh how she longed to be with him right now but she couldn't, it was too risky. With the new year, there was supposed to be new opportunities and everything was supposed to be perfect. The world doesn't work that way though, instead opting to take away what had been given as a reminder of how easily things could change. It was cruel. Fate was cruel.
What was crueller was the scene before Hyebin. It felt as if her heart was being ripped out at the sight of Sooyeon so torn down.
Sooyeon had gained popularity, in the past months after the new year, for her amazing visuals and motherly personality, becoming a top visual with Jisoo and Irene. As a result, she received many endorsements and modelling deals. She even participated in collaboration offers from gifted vocalists such as K.Will and skilled rappers like Jay Park.
As soon as the bad news came, everything had come to a halt. Despite only one member being involved in the scandal, the whole group's activities had been stopped as a result.
Life was great. Too great...
Remembering the night it all came crashing down, Hyebin let out a sigh.
FLASHBACK ☆彡
Changkyun sighed, flipping through the online portal to look for a good takeout place nearby as he and Hyebin were hanging out late. Accidentally refreshing, Changkyun's eyes widened as he noticed the trending words.
"What?" Hyebin asked, peeking over his shoulder. "Is there anything-"
ARTICLE: MODE-L AND MONSTA X MEMBER DATING?
"That's not us..." Changkyun mumbled out in shock, staring down at the two familiar figures. masked up in disguises.
"What do you mean?" Hyebin reached out to grab the phone, her eyes widening with fear and shock. "U-unnie?"
"What are we going to do?" Hyebin's voice quivered as she dropped the phone onto the bed, getting up and beginning to pace around the room.
Sighing, she spun around to look at Changkyun with a frown again.
"It can't be real..." Hyebin breathed out in disbelief. "Unnie would have told me... They would have told us surely- But then again there was the time at the festival where he pulled her away from the fight."
"I haven't seen hyung going out, I don't even think he has time to date..."
Changkyun theorized along with her. "Then again, the same could be said about us. The only difference is that we told him."
"Maybe they are in the some phase like we were," Hyebin suggested, glancing at the picture of them holding hands. "Maybe it's not even them."
"This is crazy," Hyebin scoffed, dropping down on the sofa.
"My brain can't take anymore. It's not that I'm even mad at them for dating, I seriously don't blame them. They're both good-looking, kind people who deserve to not be lonely, I'm just confused at how their paths collided. We never even caught a sign that they were even dating. I mean a few people found out about us."
"I feel like we were way more careless than them but somehow they got exposed. It's shocking." Changkyun sighed, moving behind Hyebin and massaging her shoulders as she seemed quite tense. "You're feeling stressed too right?"
"Of course," Hyebin pouted, dropping her head back to look up at him. "I'm worried about what will happen. even before we were dating, the CEO said he would take strict action if one of us was dating a member of your group. What if they kick her out? They couldn't kick a moneymaker out, could they? We've been successfully making money for them, unlike their past groups for a while..."
"I'm sure they'll figure something out," Changkyun reassured her, even though he knew he was most likely lying. There was no way it would all be let go of in an instant. It would have to be a miracle.
"But they kicked out Sera Sunbaenim for expressing an idea before," Hyebin doubted once again, her hands becoming fidgety. "This time a member is dating and was caught by the biggest news agency there is..."
"It will be fine," Changkyun repeated, reassuring both himself and her. "They'll come out of it stronger than ever before."
"Like a phoenix?" Hyebin asked in English, making him let out a fanboy squeal.
"Like a phoenix," he grinned proudly, pressing his lips onto her forehead to give her a kiss, then the tip of her nose. "Your English is so cute." Finally, he planted a kiss on her lips, her hands reaching up to hold onto the side of his face, her thumb massaging tiny circles as he had expressed how he loved whenever she did that.
"I learnt from the best," Hyebin smirked.
"Me?" Changkyun answered cockily, his smile dropping at her reply.
"John," Hyebin sighed dreamily, wanting to tease changkyun.
"Who is John?" Changkyun questioned, becoming moody and interrogative, which made her laugh. Jealous changkyun tended to be quite funny to Hyebin. "My name is Daniel."
"John Webber," Hyebin continued on, letting out a chuckle. "My English teacher from when I went to an international school."
"You had a crush on your English teacher?" Changkyun pouted, shuffling round to sit on the arm of the chair beside her, seeming slightly less grumpy.
"No!" Hyebin protested, laughing even more as she threw herself all over Changkyun, barely able to breathe at the sight of his expression. "I was like 8 or something, I don't even remember his face."
"I guess I'll let it slide..." Changkyun sighed. "If you call me your favourite English teacher."
"All you teach me is words like 'shit' and 'fuck' in English," Hyebin revealed, his eyes widening at her curse words in English.
"No-" He objected, trying to defend himself. "I taught you wayyyyy more but you only chose to remember the bad ones because you're a bad girl."
"I'm a bad girl?" Hyebin repeated, a mischievous expression appearing on her face as her head tilted to the side and she began to lift up, crawling across the sofa towards him.
"Oh-" Changkyun managed out, not even choosing to protest since he enjoyed seeing the fox side of her, although, sometimes her teasing could be a little too much, leaving him frustrated in many ways. "Is the fox back?"
"I don't know," Hyebin's voice changed into a sexier, smoother one, her hands pressed against his chest. "Why don't you tell me?"
"I mean, we're stressed out thinking about things," Changkyun justified, arching his head back as she lifted over him, his eyes following hers in pursuit of desire. "We should undress- I mean destress!"
"Why not both?" Hyebin whispered, biting his ear shortly after saying it, which made his eyes roll back.
"You," Changkyun managed out. "Are getting naughtier."
"I've read your lyrics," Hyebin countered, planting butterfly kisses along his jawline, her hands massaging his biceps as his hands were gripping onto her hips firmly. "You. Are. Worse."
Changkyun's phone rang out but they both ignored it as they were busy with other matters. Unfortunately, their matters were interrupted when the door flung open, causing Changkyun to accidentally shove Hyebin away, sending her tumbling down to the ground with a thud, two voices merging to mumble repeated sorry's.
