Wonderful. If there was one word to describe life right now, it would be wonderful. Although there's no promise as to what the future holds, the uncertainty of it no longer burdened Changkyun. He was working on his solo album, Hyebin's group were able to continue with their group activities after a while of tension within the company, Monsta X was still successful as a group and even Wonho had succeeded with his solo career to the point where he was preparing for a solo tour soon.
Surreal. Everything felt like a dream. Covid-19 and its restrictions had eased up, fortunately, those closest to them had not suffered due to the virus and were still in good health. With all the changes, he had been thinking more and more. It wasn't like he wanted to leave the group but as the months passed, he had thoughts of leaving the company itself. Their visions were beginning to clash. There were so many things he wanted to work on but they didn't allow him and he felt himself reaching a plateau in his career.
Change. Making the decision to leave Starship was difficult but with the support of his members and Hyebin, they all agreed he should do whatever he wants to do. As for their relationship, he wouldn't change a thing. At this point they were so comfortable to the point they had been discussing moving in together, however, with their public wedding being planned, there wasn't much time to move anywhere yet, especially since they could get a house as a married couple and move in after the stress of planning.
Despite many expenses, Changkyun found himself wondering about a honeymoon. Hyebin had never been to over half of the countries Changkyun had. He desperately wanted to take her abroad and show her so many beautiful places.
"Where would you want to go if you had the chance?" He piped up, staring up at the dark ceiling.
"Like space?"
"No, I mean realistically. Anywhere on earth." He scoffed at her reply, finding it funny at how she had interpreted the question.
"I'm not sure... Maybe Thailand?" She kept thinking about the question. "Brazil?"
"You like hot countries?" He asked, wanting to know more about her preferences so he could look up places ready to bring it up.
"I'm not sure. I don't mind the weather. I just like the thought of doing fun things. Like Thailand has the little boats in Phuket, they look fun and I saw a video in Pattaya where they had the people spinning fire on the beach."
"Spinning fire?" He paused as he tried to think of what she meant. "Wait- You mean a fire dancer?"
"Yeah!" She seemed excited about it just from talking alone. It was definitely a contender. "Brazil has the big carnival thing and it looks so beautiful, all the colours and the clothing. I think it'd be a once-in-a-lifetime experience."
"Right..." Changkyun silently mouthed the words Brazil and Thailand repeatedly to drill them into his head.
"Why?"
"Huh?"
"Why did you ask?" Hyebin glanced over at him as he stared at her with wide eyes as if he'd been caught doing something he shouldn't have.
"No, I was just wondering..." He responded, leaning in to press a kiss on her forehead. "I wish you didn't have to leave."
"Remember the last time I tried to sleep over? They're menaces." Hyebin pouted. "I wish I didn't have to leave either."
"I'll put Minhyuk in his place this time-" Changkyun attempted to convince her. "Can't you just stay for one night? I miss waking up beside you."
"Well, soon enough we'll be waking up together every day. You'll get tired of it." Hyebin joked.
"I'll never get tired of you." He disregarded the joke and responded honestly. It didn't matter whether or not she thought it was true, he wanted her to know that he would never become tired of her. Her presence alone would brighten his day, even if he didn't show it, his heart would race like the first time they'd met. "Stay tonight..."
