Festivities had begun. Christmas was nearing and a new year was quickly approaching. Everything was a bit slow right now in terms of Changkyun's company choosing what to do. Anything they had prepared before Wonho's departure was to go ahead and be released as well as their attendance at the end-of-year award shows. This was their first time without him and they were really feeling the lack of his presence as they travelled out to Japan for the MAMA awards. It felt unfamiliar. Even more so travelling back the next day. Despite winning two awards, they felt sad they couldn't share this experience with Wonho.

These days the schedules were packed in tight so there wasn't much time to see him or think about anything else. Well... actually, one thing had been weighing on his mind. As soon as he had returned to Seoul, he'd have to leave the next day so there wasn't much time but he couldn't just let the idea go.

Hyebin was extremely surprised when he turned up unannounced to their dorms. That surprise did not dissipate as she became even more flabbergasted at his suggestion. Crazy. The whole idea was crazy but in a way, it excited her. Though it was risky, they were impatient. Could they even pull it off?

On the 6th, he'd leave for America as his schedule was heavily based in America. During the time frame before Christmas, he'd suggested that Hyebin comes to America with her family.

"Let's get married!"

A Christmas wedding in America where both their families would be present as well as their members. They'd legalise it over there, meaning it would only be recognised as a marriage in America until they decided it was safe to legalise it back in South Korea, after letting fans know of their relationship and allowing them to adjust to the dating news.

"Are you sure?" Hyebin asked, partially feeling like they were rushing things on a whim.

Even the Song-Song couple divorced this year, over a year after they married. 2019 had been a year of big break-ups. It was constantly a headline. Though she loved him dearly, she still worried that one-day things could change. The thought of them breaking up scared her already. How would she even cope with a divorce?

Almost as if Changkyun had read her mind, his response caused her head to snap up and look at him.

"If you're not ready yet, I won't push it but if it's because you're worried. Don't be." He attempted to comfort her, reaching out to take her hand and press a kiss on the back of it. "We're in this together. Whatever you want to do, I'll always be on your side."

Hyebin nodded in response with a warm smile. "I want to but it's a lot to plan... I'm not sure everyone can even make it." She didn't want to disappoint him by being so pessimistic but her worries were valid.

"You don't need to worry about any of that. I'll sort it all out. All you have to do is say yes." He attempted to convince her, observing her expression closely. No longer did she seem to hesitate.

"Yes."

"Yes?" Changkyun breathlessly laughed, awaiting a solid response from her.

"Yes!" She laughed along with him, becoming excited as he lifted her up, spinning the pair around.

Unknowingly, the Mode-L members had heard all the commotion and were eavesdropping from behind the door. They didn't want to ruin the moment but none of them could contain themselves as it was such a joyous moment.

"How are we going about this then, Mr Jo?" She questioned, jokingly adding her last name to refer to him.

"Well, Mrs Im, I think we should reveal we're dating after we get back from America." He explained, feeding into the last name joke. "How does that sound?"

"Good," Hyebin spoke in a low voice and a small giggle as they leaned in for a kiss. Melting into the kiss, she felt as if she were floating on cloud nine. It all felt too perfect but it was different this time. No longer did she feel bothersome about something terrible happening.

Maybe it was the adrenaline of all the impulsive decisions they were making. One thing she knew for sure was that she wanted it. Perhaps it was selfish but she'd been successful with her career, managing to remain an idol for two years, participate as an actress in dramas and even in love. She'd achieved so much in the past 2 years, now she owed it to herself to take a chance.

Her career wasn't going to last forever. Their relationship also might not last forever but the promise of it being eternal was enough for her to want to venture down this path with one of the people she treasured the most.
