Finale special chapter: Part 2
Wonho and Sooyeon's relationship was going strong this time, however, with him becoming a successful soloist, it was becoming harder for them to admit to the public that they were dating. Not to mention his impending military enlistment next year. Though it seemed like it would make things harder for the pair, they actually saw it as a blessing. If there was ever a time for them to admit to dating, surely his enlistment would be a good time. By the time the 2 years were up, they'd probably have forgotten about the two.
By now, she was deep in the modelling industry, making it as far as being a brand ambassador and having amazing opportunities such as visiting fashion weeks and other overseas events. While it definitely halted her career as an artist, it wasn't as much of a big deal anymore. They'd achieved so much in the past four years and while they never won any grand awards or Daesangs, they were just glad to be able to perform on stage together without the company dropping them.
In all honesty, they could feel the end coming. Contracts were up soon for certain members and their releases were slowing down. If it all ended, they didn't want to give up on being idols, they just had other visions they wanted to pursue and to challenge themselves in new areas of their careers. Not to mention that Hyebin was going to start showing soon... They wouldn't be able to promote for a while.
As of now, Sooyeon was in Paris for a fashion week and luckily enough, Wonho was on his first-ever tour alone as a soloist, his dates in pairs coinciding with her schedule. Being the foodie couple they were, they instantly jumped on the opportunity to try out new foods and explore the beautiful scenery, along with Wonho's manager who was third-wheeling but they didn't mind since he was a close friend to both by now.
Mirae... where to start? Shockingly, Mirae's relationship with her CEO girlfriend had become quite serious to the point she had brought her to meet her grandmother and much to her bliss, her grandmother treated her as another granddaughter, welcoming her with open arms and such an open mind, you'd think she was born in this century. Funnily enough, they hadn't actually told her they were dating, Mirae had only introduced her as a friend but she was a quick-witted woman with many years of experience behind her. In a way, she had always known about Mirae. How could she not have known about her precious granddaughter?
With the money saved up from her activities, Mirae had made enough to move her grandmother to live in Seoul with her. Though this meant that the dorm had lost a member and unfortunately she wasn't the only one. Shortly after her marriage, Hyebin moved out to live with Changkyun. Considering both were roommates, it had freed up a room in the dorms. Sooyeon stayed behind in the dorms, not wanting to move out for the sake of Youngji and to be completely honest, she no longer liked living alone. Being in such a crowded apartment had become so natural to her that she couldn't imagine not living in a busy home. It was like her own little family, something she had never had when she was growing up.
Desiring a child of her own, if she couldn't have one, she at least liked to think of her members as her own children. Taking care of them, making Youngji pack lunches for school and checking in on them every day, even the members that weren't living in the dorms anymore, filled her with happiness. They were her pride and joy.
Speaking of pride, Subin had dedicated all of her free time to creating her own choreo and even managed to make money from it as she sold it to companies for certain groups, most noticeably Twice - thanks to her now close friend Son Chaeyoung. Their bond became popularised as they were often spotted out, getting matching tattoos and visiting each other's concerts. Her relationship with a certain boy group member, known as Mark, was short-lived due to their constant on-and-off dating style. They'd gotten over it though and were finally in a comfortable place where they could be friends, though it was slightly awkward since Subin was secretly crushing on Jungwoo.
Jiyeon had established herself as the new ost queen, her soulful voice being in demand for many dramas. Of course, the public still focused on her body but by now she had built a healthy relationship with food and her body so whenever she was asked to be on the cover of health magazines, she'd use her public voice to express how important health was, encourage others and sharing her truth about her problems in the past with her weight, food, dieting and body dysmorphia. She had become someone, who many looked up to because they could relate, having been subject to criticism themselves from the harsh beauty standards within society. And finally, Youngji, who wasn't so young anymore. The members had attended her graduation, finding it unbelievable how time had flew by. No longer was she the 16 year old schoolgirl, who played the daughter in webtoons and dramas. Now she was set to turn 20 soon, gaining attention as a rising child actress to the main female lead in dramas. If there was anyone who had achieved their dream out of them all, it would have to be Youngji.
It wasn't certain whether Youngji would stick to her acting dreams when she debuted but she had persevered and used the experience as an idol. From M/V shoots to on-stage performances, she'd learnt much about being filmed and using her facial expressions to draw in an audience, taking those skills and using them to get to where she was as an actress. It was incredibly impressive. No longer did she feel as if being an idol was just a stepping stone to where she wanted to get to, she found herself being equally as happy on-stage, finding a healthy balance between them and eventually setting her eyes on becoming a musical theatre actress. With the member's support, she felt as if she could achieve anything.
In a way, they all did. Things they'd never considered before had become possible. Now there were so many possibilities, they couldn't keep themselves from dreaming and striving to achieve many new things. It was amazing what the future held. The friendships built along the way. Romances. Opportunities. They were forever bound together by one name. Mode-L.
