Chapter 5

The first leg of the Asia tour had kicked off, starting with 3 dates in Japan and heading back to Korea for 2 more since it was the end of year awards ceremonies and they'd been invited to a few, which was a big deal for rookies... well all groups to be quite honest. After the end of year awards, they were promised a one week break for Seollal (Korean new year) and then they would continue their tour.

Spending two weeks in Japan for their tour was sensational. It was a new feeling for them all and such a euphoric one at that. It was "more work" but there were not really any other schedules to attend other than a few interviews so it was less tiring compared to their usual schedules back home. For the first time in forever, they were able to sing live again and sleep in each morning as well as getting to spend time together looking around the cities.

Hyebin had been keeping Changkyun up to date and video chatting with him as often as she could, which often ended in them playing iMessage games and arguing over who won or falling asleep on the call. It wasn't much but little things like that were so precious to them since they couldn't see each other as often as they would like. Admittedly, the two did enjoy being able to have alone time without the other getting overly clingy since they worked in the same field and could understand each other well, though, Changkyun tended to get jealous at times and was a bit more clingy but Hyebin liked that about him.

As fate would have it, when returning for the end of year award ceremonies, both their groups had been invited to Mama. It would be an intense day for Wonho and Sooyeon but for Changkyun and Hyebin, they were excited to see each other, the thought of potentially bumping into one another backstage was exciting. The fact that Mama was being held in Japan that year too meant that if Monsta X arrived a few days before, the couple could see each other.

Thankfully, luck was on their side. Changkyun and Hyebin had managed to spend a few hours alone in Japan, visiting the Nagoya castle on a date at night and enjoying the local culture and drinking a little sake till they were tipsy and tired. Unfortunately, by the end of the night, they had to go back to their separate hotels since they had schedules to prepare for the Mama awards.

As expected, they had lost the rookie of the year awards to (G)-Idle, however, the girls were not as disappointed since their debut was so good. They were just happy to even be nominated at such a big awards show.

When returning to Korea for other award shows, they turned out to be quite fruitful within the tv department with Yeojin bagging an award for her daytime drama and Hyebin winning a drama award for best newcomer.

It was such a surreal feeling standing up on stage, surrounded by fans and other famous celebrities within her field. Her eyes could barely take in the crowd due to intense lighting, her heavy but beautifully jewel embedded gown causing her to sweat even more. 

After her acceptance speech, and heading backstage, Hyebin let out a cry of shock when she came face to face with Changkyun holding a bouquet of flowers, Kwon Hyunbin and the rest of the Seoul Searching cast who didn't have a busy schedule. Seeing the PD creep out from behind the group with a cake, she was completely speechless. 

Sooyeon egged her on as Subin came over and nudged Hyebin into the group, holding a camera and gesturing for them all to gather. Visibly choked up, Hyunbin cracked a joke as he pulled her over to his side and moved the PD between them so she could blow out the cakes during one of the photos. 

Feeling slightly jealous, Changkyun shuffled himself around Daeyeol so he could get closer to Hyebin, grabbing her attention by shoving the flowers in her hands. Holding back a smirk, Hyebin could sense Changkyun's jealousy but there was nothing she could do since they were her friends and they were in public.
