Chapter 23

Tears after tears. The past two days had been crazy. In no way had the girls gone viral, however, their title track had managed to gain them their first win and even a second win the day after. Although it was most likely because of the lack of bigger groups promoting at the time, a win was still a win. With that win came the freedom of phones, more freedom within the company and the chance for more opportunities.

Now they would have to work harder to put out better music so they could maintain receiving wins. With another controversy swept under the rug, the girls considered themselves fortunate and focused solely on giving their best performances in all they were working on.

Despite everything leading up to their win, they were ecstatic about it. As a reward for their hard work, the girls were going to an amusement park today to celebrate the achievement. Of course, the company had linked it to their work, using it as a chance to film content for their Youtube but they didn't mind since it was still something fun for them to let loose and enjoy.

Hyebin clung to Mirae's arm as she held a vlogging camera. The pair were currently bickering over which ride they'd go in first. Surprisingly they were the groups daredevils, unlike who they'd assumed were; Sooyeon and Subin. Subin was shaking Athens sight of the teacups, which had amused Youngji to no end. Jiyeon also seemed to have fun egging on Sooyeon and convincing her that she should go on the worst rides possible.

Occasionally someone would point at the girls and call out their name, which was quite exciting considering they had not been a famous groups. They didn't even make the top 10 on currently active groups so to have any recognition at all felt really nice. Some even coming up to ask for photos with them.

Right now, it was Mirae's turn to take pictures with a fan. With Jiyeon, Subin and Youngji hogging the vlogging camera's, Hyebin and Sooyeon were alone trailing behind and looking around. Hyebin had been hoping for a moment alone with Sooyeon as she wanted to talk to her about something personal.

Ever since the breakup with Wonho, Sooyeon had never really seemed the same. She had recovered from the heartbreak and seemed happy enough, however, it felt like something had changed. Wonho was her friend as well as her boyfriend. Losing a friend must've added to the pain she felt, especially as they had never actually fallen out of love.

Since her brother could no longer come to the US to visit Changkyun with her, Hyebin had been thinking of asking someone else in his place since she'd never traveled alone before abroad. Her first choice was Sooyeon. She owed her a lot. As a great leader to the group, a supportive friend and someone who she trusted a lot. 

After talking to Changkyun about the change in plans, he had also agreed that she should come along. Neither of them had found the time to meet up again after the situation or even talk to one another. Even if they just had one more chance to talk again, they hoped they'd be able to leave on better terms then they had. One last chance to end things properly.

"Unnie," Hyebin called out nervously, Sooyeon's attention turning to her. 

"What's up?" Sooyeon asked, noticing how hesitant Hyebin seemed. "You look nervous."

"Ah no-" She protested, putting on a small smile. "The thing is. I'm going on a trip soon to visit Changkyun but I've never traveled alone. I was wondering if maybe you'd like to come with me?"

"Oh I'd love to but I don't make that much money-"

"It's paid for." Hyebin spoke up. "He was going to pay for me and my brother to come out but my brother got in trouble so he can't come."

"I feel bad though," Sooyeon sighed. "I'd love to come along but if he pays for me, I'll feel bad about it."

"What if we save up? It's not for a few months but if he pays for the tickets, we can save up for the next few months, put aside a small amount and pay him back when we go." Hyebin suggested, wanting to get Sooyeon on board. 

"Well, I think that'd be okay." Sooyeon agreed. She didn't want to leave Hyebin all alone and to be honest, she hadn't been on holiday in a few years. It would be nice to recuperate and rest up before the start of the new year. She'd been needing to refresh and recover herself for a while. Even though it had been a while, the effects of her dating scandal had still left her feeling drained. 

Each day, she felt worried that the fans would suddenly turn their backs on her. The rude comments still came in despite it being over 6 months since the since the scandal broke out. They still affected her, however, she'd been able to cope with it. When she got her own phone back, she'd blocked many words on her social media that she didn't want to see. 

"Actually," Sooyeon came to a conclusion. "Yeah. I'll come with you."

"Really?" Hyebin gasped with excitement, pulling Sooyeon in for a hug abruptly. "Thank you Unnie! I can't wait!"

Letting out a chuckle, Sooyeon smiled to herself. She was glad to have someone like Hyebin by her side. Each of her members brought out a different side to her. From day one, Hyebin's blind adoration towards the elder had amused her to no end. She found it cute. 

Even now, Hyebin still had that shine in her eye. In a way, Sooyeon was envious of that shine but being around Hyebin, she felt as if she also had that shine. As if she was the best version of herself around Hyebin. Maybe that's why she fell for Wonho... There was something about him. He had that shine. And when she was around him... she felt as if she had that shine. Everything felt surreal as if everything would fall into place. No worries, just pure bliss.

"Ah look at these two," Jiyeon's voice was heard, the pair turning to see her approaching them with a vlogging camera. "Isn't it a heartwarming sight?"

"Jiyeon-ah," Hyebin called out happily, moving over to her side and hooking arms with her, Sooyeon doing the same on the other side of Jiyeon. "What ride do you think we should bring Sooyeon on? Maybe the Turbo Twister?"

Gasping, Sooyeon immediately protested. 

"I refuse!"

Hyebin and Jiyeon chuckled, finding it funny to tease Sooyeon about the scariest rides since she was terrified of all the rides. Sooyeon didn't mind the teasing as she knew they'd never force her onto the rides she was uncomfortable with. The trio wandered around, teasing each other in search of a ride to go on. Overall the day had been enjoyable and they'd all been able to let loose and have some fun, releasing their tension. It was perfect.
